This shows the type of hardships Mahatma Gandhi to go through to fight for his rights. There is so much more that he went through including, being shot to death, and being judged and imprisoned for his beliefs. The author also tells about his family life. He explains who his parents are and their role in the indian culture.Mahatma Gandhi also went on a series of hunger strikes to honor the poor. Things start to move up very quickly and it then goes into talking about her family and her deal with the Nazi's and how they have to live at a "Secret Annexe". More and more people are moving in with them everyday and it's getting more and more stressful. Anne talks about how everyday is a struggle and could be her last day alive if they aren't careful. These past couple pages have been about her life living in the "Secret Annexe" and how dangerous it is for other jews who don't have a safe place to live. Allen, Harriet escaped from her master. She was finally free, but she wanted something more. She wanted to help others escape as well. There was something called the underground railroad, where people had a way to escape. People were given cloths, water, and food for survival. A man named John Brown played a big part so far in my book. He created protests and revolts for slaves and ex slaves. He wanted all the slaves to be free and not captured. Harriet and him teamed up together and accomplished many things. They were both fugitives at the time so that had to disguise themselves. Harriet wrote a life biography, but she knew people couldn't know it was her so she titled it, " old colored woman" (73). Later on Brown recruited Harriet to become a general for the group he led. It talks about all the struggles LeBron and his mom went through. Lebron did not know his dad and his mom had him when she was 16. When lebron was 9 he had to move in with his basketball coach because lebron missed 82 days of school and his mother was struggling. Right now lebron is in his senior year of highschool averaging 31.7 points 15 rebounds and 5 assist. Kendall, Bunpah and his families village has been taken over. Everybody in his family except for his father and 2 little brothers were killed. His father decides to send them with one of their older sisters to live with incase the Khmer Rouge comes back to their village. After living with one of their older sisters for a while they go live with their other older sister. She lived in the city. Then a couple months after living with her the Khmer Rouge came and invaded the cities and made them move out. They traveled everyday at gunpoint and had to work in rice fields. Most of the product made went to the Khmer Rouge. His family had almost no food. After years of torture and near death experiences, they decided to escape. They decided to because the Vietnamese were taking over Khmer Rouge property so it was safe in some places. She was kiddnapped by a man who used to work eith her family. They talked about how she was raped 1 time a day,and even multiple times in a day. Her sister was awake when she was kiddnapped(it hapened in the middle of the night) and saw the mans face. Elizabeth was kidnapped for 9 months and mover from Utah to California. It took 8 years for them to find the kidnapper(Brian David Mitchel) guilty of kiddnapping and transportation of a child across state lines for sexual purposes. The sentences him for 5 years.  Then the mayor lets him free. It was hard for him to get to a college so his mother begged a college coach to let im be on the team. She didn´t want him to be in the streets with the wrong people. Then the coach decided to let him try out. No other colleges wanted him. So he tried out and the coach was very impressed so he joined the team. Neri which is biography of a teachers experience with a kid named Yummy. Yummy is a 11 year old boy who is part of a gang called the Black disciples. The story takes place in 1994, the reason why the kid is named yummy is because he known for liking sweets.The story is mostly about how yummy wanted to join a gang - mostly the black disciples and he was a troublemaker which got him in dangerous situations. The story is told by a made up character by the author who made the book had actually experienced this story in real life, so the character of Yummy is real and his fate, just told by a made up character.
