The people of Ukraine did not like this. They wanted to go back to their old farming lifestyle and be able to self rule. Stalin viewed this as a rebellion and sought to teach Ukraine a lesson. So he made all the food they produced that year go onto the foreign market so that they would starve. This would lead to millions of men,women, and children's deaths.
