I have never been envolved in any kind of problems related with social media and I never felt the need to report any issue.
This is something that I'm really afraid. I always try to be careful with my posts in all social media. I use them, specially Facebook, to disseminate teachers' materials/websites that I find interesting, as well as to web 2.0 tools that can be used in the teaching process. I never use these media to show my private life or family, and I respect who does it, however I think everyone should be aware of the dangers that that behaviour.
When I say that I've never reported any issue, that doesn't mean that I have never saw some comments that I felt that they shouldn't be done. However I think that sometimes is better to don't give to many significance, or it can be even worse. I usualy say that: my freedom of speech doesn't give me the right to be rude with the others.
In the future if I see me involved in any incident: 1st) I will report the problem to the social media responsables ; 2nd) I will contact the police (in case of very injurious content).

I have never been involved in any kind of problems related to social media in relation to bullying... However, two months ago I had a problem with an add that was on facebook. Advertisements on facebook are usually a fake and I didn't know about it. I saw an advertisement on Tommy Hilfiger's shoes and I bought a pair of shoes. I thought it was Tommy's webpage but it was a fake. I paid the shoes and I received an e-mail telling me the payment was correct. After two weeks I received a parcel with a Chinese T-shirt on which there were the words "Drop out" in the front and "Drunk" at the back. I immediately looked at my bank account and I had two different payments done to somewhere in China and of different quatities. So they made a duplication of my card. I went to the police station to denounce the case and to the bank to invalid my card. Therefore, I learnt that we only have to buy in safe places and advertisements on Facebook are usually a fake.

Luckily, I have never had any problems with working online with my pupils: I guess it is because when I carry out etwinning projects, I use the twinspace mainly. Anyway, in 2009 I was using a blog because the new twinspace was not ready when we started the project: the project was about fashion and I got a message from two companies who wanted to adverstise in my blog (they were selling trainers and accessories). I contacted my NA to see what I had to do with that, and they told me that I was not allowed to advertise anything when working in etwinning.
If I ever have a bad experience with innappropiate material or behaviour, I would report it to the NA and also block the user, and if it persists, i will contact the police.

I've never had any problems or incidents involving spamming, bullying or harassment with my students (or colleagues) when participating in an online community. One of the reasons for this would be probably because my students are young (7-11 years old) and so far I've used closed educational communities for lessons and projects (such as eTwinning-TwinSpace, Edmodo) where I can easily monitor my student's activities while online. I also spend a lot of time discussing and explaining the netiquette rules as well as model appropriate online behavior to them. Of course if an incident like this would happen in the future I would probably talk to the student/students about it, or depending on the nature of the incident talk to the student's parents, other teachers (ex. the class teacher) or any other party which would need to be involved.

I always get my students aware that online behavior can present e-safety risks. Most social networking sites set age restrictions on using their services, but there is no verification. As a result, many younger children ignore the terms and conditions of service, unaware of the risks this might pose. That’s why teachers need to inform kids at about all the possible risks of the net. If in the future I get involved in any kind of an incident, depending on the type, I will inform parents, reports the problem to the social media responsable and/or contact the police.

I have a facebook account, but I don't use it very often; I have a twitter account, but I cannot remember my login(!!). Usually, I use palteforms that are safe to work with my students: twinspace is sure. When I make a video, I use "unlisted" so that only those who have the link can watch it. In France, we have clear rules about images with students. So it is better to make things properly.
If I had problems by using social medias or palteforms at school, I would tell it to my headmaster and to the academic authority. If I had problems with personal accounts, I would change my password at first, and then I would erase the account. With etwnning, I would tell to the NSS.

I have never been involved in an online incident. Generally, people join online communities for a lot of reasons. We as teachers, are usually using many apps, online platforms, etc. An important issue with participating in these communities is that of online community safety. The Internet can be an empowering tool, but it involves risks. Online community providers offer several ways to help protect us when we use their services, depending upon the kind of community we join. eTwinning is a safety community and here we and our pupils are be learning in wich way we can protect from online incident involving spamming, bullying or harassment. Here we can find the „eTwinning code of conduct” and if someone threat us, we need "to report the message or contact our National Support Service". These things must be learn by pupils, too!

However, I had to report one student's nasty comments on another pupil's wall of the twinspace. It wasn't something too serious but bad language and improper content. I sent a private message for the corresponding teacher to take notice and he immediately sorted it out. Also, I have often seen that students use pictures from the Internet without paying attention to copy right, despite having been told it is against the rules. I always make them delete their post and reread the netiquette code. We all should be very strict in that respect.

Some years ago I received a mail from Facebook congratulating me to start an account and suggesting me to add some more friends. However, I already had a Facebook account, but a person had used one of my mail addresses to create a new account with a different name. In my mail adress my actual name (which is unique) was included so it can't have been a coincidence. The person, who I didn't recognize, didn't have access to my mail so he couldn't confirm or use the account, however, my mail was spammed by friend requests and posts by people I didn't know. I tried to report the incident to Facebook but nothing happened. I also tried to figure out the identity of the person and by looking at images and posts by his friends I assumed he was a teenager in a Swedish city. A couple of years ago the mails stopped coming, but I still don't know who the person is and why he used my email address...

Fortunately I've never experienced any misuse (professionally or personally. I suppose that if it ever happens I would immediately refer to the competent authority. Within the school I would tell the headmaster and a special council would be hold to see which measure should be taken according to the gravity of the facts. Personally I imagine I would do the same (telling the responsible of the app and the police or whatever according to what happened)

To be honest, I must recognise that I am not very active in these platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Youtube.... so, there are not many opportunities to suffer from spamming, bullying or harassment. The only issue that happened to me was this... I have a professional google account from the Educational Department I am working for. I think someone hacked it because all my contacts received a fishy e-mail that I had not sent. The good news was that nobody gave it credibility because of the strange used language style. Moreover, I could not use my account because it was locked. So, I reported the issue to the Education authorities and they solved the problem (but I do not know how).

I have not experienced some form of harassment or abuse on social media. However every day, thousands of people have to contend with negative, abusive, insulting, and threatening comments posted on, or linked to, their social media accounts. If the abusive conduct happens on a social site like Facebook or Instagram, it may be possible to notify the site owners. Many social sites now offer the option to block individuals and report spam or abusive comments. If the abuse takes place outside of the social site, but points back to it, it may be possible to alert the owners of that site to the abusive conduct, as well. Another option in the case of cyber-bullying and online harassment is a civil action. Filing a lawsuit it may be the only way to protect one's self in extreme circumstances.
No matter what happens, it is important to take online harassment and cyber-bullying very seriously.

There have been numerous cases in which I have noticed people miss behaving towards others. For example, we have a site on which we can post different materials for sharing with other teachers and at one moment there was a teacher who keft some bad comments about me and my materials and my knowledge of our language. I did not understand the problem and I asked him to be more explicit and to help me correct my problem. That was the moment he became more verbally agressive without any other explanation. I contacted the clients support centre and I explained them the situation. They said nothing else but that they would contact him and made sure he would not continue with that attitude. And this is it- I don't get any more messages or comments from him.

It is the school account that we have had some issues with. Some of the posts are by 'Fake' profiles or members. They will retweet or like some post from your account. The content they post is then unacceptable content. This is a very important area as students and teachers can follow our twitter account. However I have found some of the tools quite useful on twitter. You can block these accounts immediately. Also you get options to report or flag the account. You can fill in a report as to why you think the content is unacceptable. It can be used to shut down these accounts. This has solved the problem.
Ronan O' Sullivan,
Ireland.

On this day we discuss our bad experiences, we also invite experts who can inform us about how to solve this problem

So we always take part in the #Safer Internet Day and through the Italian NSS we had the opportunity to follow a 2 hours webinar with a Postal Police Officer last October. The tips he gave were really interesting and students were impressed by the various examples of the risks they can be prey of.

Personally, I have never gone through these unpleasant situations myself. I have never been involved in bullying or cyber bullying neither in spamming or phishing. Mostly I usually use Facebook, eTwinning Live and sometimes Twitter. I always monitor my students and make sure they are aware of the netiquette rules. I never encourage them nor approve for them to post their personal information online ( or their friend’s). A problem I usually faced in the beginning is using photos with watermarks or without paying attention to copy rights. They seem not to face this problem anymore but I make sure never the less they are fully aware of the netiquette code. I also have informed parents about these rules and they all have agreed to monitor their children.

I've never been involved in such type of situation, however, I'm aware of some situations that have happened either with friends or with students and teachers.
No matter if all social media present their policies/rules,... people, in particular, teenagers, hardly read them, or pay them any attention. This way they become more susceptible to get involved in unpleasant situations; the same happens, some times. with adults (including teachers)...
A simple picture (even without any sort of nudity), a word, a comment... can be a pretext to start an online incident...
If this happened with me, or with a friend, or even with one of my students, firstly, I would try to contact, directly, the person who have started all the confusion... Secondly, if there were no answer, I reported the situation (on edge, also to the police).
When a similar situation happens at school, parents should be also involved on the process of solving the situation.

Hi everybody! Just come back from the land of the colds;) Unfortunately, I was involved in 2 incidents on Internet safety and I'd like to describe it here so you won't fall into the same trap. I uncautiously didn't log out of my facebook account, which I had used to log into an app online in one of my classes, and sorry to say, my students took advantage of this stupidity on my part to send some very unpleasant messages in my account. Fortunately, my followers didn't believe I'd say such things and this incident was solved by changing my password and talking about this to the class involved-it's never happened again. A second case involved a pure case of hate speech directed toward a minority group, in Facebook. I flagged the message and filled in the online form. However, I was answered by the Facebook team that according to them it wasn't really racist (I still don't agree to them!)

Marie Josée THELINEAUgp16 As far I am concernedI have never been involved in any online incident involving spamming, bullying or harassment when participating in an online community. I think I am a user who is aware of pitfalls of the Internet and goes as smoothly as as possible.Had I found any content offensive or inappropriate I would have followed the code of behaviour of the social network and let the incident known by Support Services immediately.May I just tell about a Facebook video my students were showing in the class about one of their school mate being photographed despite her by her boyfriend during an intimate relationship: I immediately warned them about the penalties they would endure as they were sharing privacy data without authorization; I asked them to remove the video on the spot and took them later to the Principal’s who investigated and had the girl’s parents sued the boyfriend. If this would happen again (what I don’t wish),thanks to this module,I would follow the steps of the tools provided by the SUPPORT SERVICE (my students were over 18)

I have never been involved in any online incidents. I took part in a PD from the European Schoolnet and I got a lot of information about safety net, Better Internet for Kids (BIK). I saw a film Teddy cam, which I showed also my students and they were shocked (learning unit). During our meeting in KA1 we were working on this topic and created pinwalls for information for the colleagues. Now I take part with my class in a competition about how to use mobile devices safely (learning unit s.above). We made a survey, we were working on netiquette,.... and we will make a little exposition in our school. A lot of material I got from klicksafe. There I got a lot of information what to do and a lot of phone numbers for help.

We have had some incidents in my school, but not directly in my class. I helped my colleague to solve an issue about the program called Movie planet where her students abused each other online and then the conficts deepend when they met in school. It was an awful situation. The students thought it was ok and so easy to say hurtful things onlineen you could not see the reaction of the other one. WE involved the parents, looked at what had been written (not who wrote what) and how it would feel to hear someone say that, to say that to someone and the difference between saying and Writing. We worked hard, we involved also my class in this and they got to dramatize it and work with it and then we also got the students involved to talk to each other. Interesting now that I see it all written down like this how Everything is analogue and not digital - this I must Think about - could we have dome it different or more efficient if we would have done it with the computers?

I have not encountered any serious online incidents, maybe it is due to the fact that I try to follow the rules of e-safety as much as possible. Sometimes I may come across some spamming or inappropriate material on social media, I usually report them. I think we must not only follow the rules of e-safety but , which is even more important to me, we must teach our pupils how to be safe while using internet. In today's world it is a real challenge to keep children safe in the online community. They must be taught how to overcome any spamming, bullying or harassment they come across.

There are a lot of examples that students talk about, share and learn from them. I suggest them that they should always report any kind of abuse and should talk with someone else (to ask for help). Very interesting topic, popular among students that raise their interest and active participation. Only by education on the subject they will be able to protect themself

I have seen something very dangerous 3 years ago! As a computer science teacher , while teaching the Unit3 : Internet I started to talk about netethics, bullying and bad things that could happen with their activity online , the next session a group of pupils 7th grade (11- 13 years old) approched me and said that they are achamed to show me something but as said and asked from them before to report any strange behaviour to a trustfull grown up person , they showed me someone who send them and to their friends of the same age invitation request under a female vieled girl and engage with them in discussions and ask from them innapprioriate things and send them videos with porno content and they indeed opened me their messages and showed me ! and I was horrified and started shaking , really I was traumatised! As this incident was very very dangerous and kids was afraid to say it to any growing up even and our mentality and society is going hard on them , they asked me for discression which I did till now ! I think this is the first time I m speaking of publicly. So, What have I done ! I spent many sessions showing them how to report any abuse on facebook , how to block these people, confidentiality, how to hide or make private their friends lists so this predator don't target their friends , I have asked from them to report this fake facebook profile, I asked them to spread the word and to ask their friend to come to me with any of this kind of incident , indeed the nember of pupils targeted by this predator was very very high more than I could ever imagine, but they were very afraid of the scandal, so I was discret I reported this individu to police , it happened that it was not a girl , it was a mid 40's years old men who tried to hide his pedophily behind pretending to be a man of relion and he have done the same thing with other pupils from other school from the capitol, fortunatly he was fastly captured and things was settled down.
but I never wanted or thought I would talk about cyber sexual predators to 7th grade children and was really afraid but I had to for many sessions I had to show them how important not to show their pictures on social media or their life pattern , or their friends etc we talked much about cyber ethics and how to counter this kind of incidents. They never been more quiet and more involved and more participative to talk about their personal experiences online! I assure you , I was shokced and very happy I had their trust, They just have spoke about wooow so many things , especially bullying which I had to address with much genuinity, because bullyers are among them , we massively participated in the Share heart , the safer Internet Day.
So every year I make sure to speak openly with my students about these topics to see if any thing occuring. It's not accepted by our community to speak about these topics but I feel like I have no choice!

The boys in the class decided to play a trick on her to make her kinder but they chose a very stupid and dangerous way. They created a Facebook profile of an unreal young man and started to send this girl love messages. The girl took it seriously and started to exchange letters with him and asked the young man to meet her. At that moment our boys frightened and understood that it is not a joke anymore and told me and one of my colleagues everything. We solved the case with the help of the parents, the psychologist of the school and an Internet security expert. I am sure nobody of us will forget this case.

I have never been involved in any online incident involving spamming, bullying or harassment on an online platform. It can be because I am not very active on such communities as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat. I have got a Facebook and Twitter account because I do believe that it is important to know how these platforms are used. I have never had to report any inappropriate material or behaviour so far. If I discovered any, I would react at once, report them and make sure the people responsible for them would be prevented from doing any harm to anyone. In my opinion, it is crucial to react at once at such behaviour to protect the youth. Young people are growing, using the new technology. It important not only to prevent them from the dangers they may encounter with it, but also to make them aware of these dangers and their effects and to offer solutions how to act and react in case of inappropriate behaviour . It is our teacher’s job, when running a project with digital tools to make the students aware of the rules and codex of behaviour of the community they join. This is not only true for Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram or Twitter, but also for eTwinning

It is useful for every lesson in my opinion.
I also used it for presentations to teacher colleagues. Since there is the possibility to print out all pins or save them as pdf- audience has a kind of handout. If audience has an own account to padlet there is the possibility to copy the own padlet and edit it for your own.
I love this tool!

Concerning involving spamming, bullying or harassment I have to say, that I have not made any bad experiences, wheter by myself nor with children in school. We try to hardly work with "safer internet" to protect children as good as possible, but parents have to be informed as well. I think there has to be done a lot of protection too. Mainly they are autodidactics in using ICT and they don't know which dangers and possibilities are given by using smartphones, computers or other device.
We invided a professionist concerning safer internet and had a meeting with parents. But there have been too less parents being interested in this topic, but I think everyone has to be interested in it!

I have never experienced bullying but I know people who have been victims. If this ever happens to me, I will surely take action or ask for help to solve this matter especially if children are involved. We have often talked about this at school and we are teaching children to be aware of this hazard and talk to a family member or school staff if they experience bullying, harassment or receive inappropriate material.

I am the webmaster, so I had to fix out all the problems. Fortunatelly, the hackers were very friendly and alerted us to protect our login page more carefully.

The netiquette is very important nowadays. Thanks the eTwinning program I have known better the rules and first time I have thougth about them siriously. I can understand more the meaning of it much better. I have never been involved in any problem with social media or bullying. If it happens, I know what should I do or who should I tell about the situation. I can change password, inform the police, or other people who can help with eSafety. I saw pages with contact in my country where I can receive any help if I need. I enriched my knowledge about the sources of eSafety topic during SID 2017 - last February and now in the module D of that course for eTwinning ambassadors I could make my knowledge deeper. I read the posts on this padlet from expirienced teachers who were involved in difficult situations and now I know that talking about that topic is very essencial activity with young students from the early years. Thanks a lot for all participants!

I have never had strong negative experiences by using the net for educational purposes, because I have always taken care of e-safety. It is a good idea to have good virus protection and to reinforce our computers' firewalls. But I had a hacker attack a few months ago through phishing: I lost some of the data that I keep encrypted, but unusable. Attention is never enough.

Nequitte is very important these days . Personally I have never encountered any incident on social media but I have definitely been subjected to spamming and physhing through email. In the school setting we have encountered a number of bullying incidents through Snapchat and Facebook. We held a day of workshops for all pupils highlighting the importance of being responsible online, how what is perceived through social media online is not always the reality, how their digital footprints are created and how to respond to any incidents of bullying. The workshop was a great success and an eye-opener for all students.

I have never had negative incident in internet, but one of my student had. It was 2 years ago and she was 13. She and her friends had a party with alkohol. She got drunk and one boy took her photo. She wore only a bra and jeans. The boy put the photo on FaceBook and send information about it to another friends. Information about it accessed to teachers. We had special meetings with parents and students. She was talking witch school psychologist. Since then we have had regular lessons about savety in internet, for example in our after school club we use www.sieciaki.pl platform every week. On this platform children can see films, cartoons and do some exercises about safety in internet.

The netiquette is something that everyone should be familiar with:"All conventions of decorum in use on the Internet". That's why we should respect the rules of right use of Internet, not just in our classroom, but also in our private lives. We believe in freedom of expression and open dialogue, but that means little as an underlying philosophy if voices are silenced because people are afraid to speak up. In order to ensure that people feel safe expressing diverse opinions and beliefs, we prohibit behavior that crosses the line into abuse, including behavior that harasses, intimidates, or uses fear to silence another user’s voice.

Context matters when evaluating for abusive behavior and determining appropriate enforcement actions.Luckily, I haven't got such an unpleasant experience till now.

I was - by accident - involved in one quite negative incident, where my students were chatting online with each other in a very impolite way. I contacted parents, guidance counselor and the headteacher. Together we solved the problem . The class had extra lessons with the counselor and with me. The students directly involved in that situation had special meetings with me, parents and counselor. All of us tried to learn from this bad situation and tried to find some extra tools and ways to prevent such situations in the future.
