         <description><![CDATA[<div>A great approach for using Problem - Based Learning in History is talking about academic Controversies. Academic Controversies create a way for students to work through problems throughout history. This constructivism leans on a students previous knowledge on the subject and challenges it through the presented problem. Having students argue an opposing side of the problem is a great way to add knowledge without challenging the students previous knowledge.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Authentic Activities</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Authentic Activities are used for constructivism in Social Studies by teaching students processes. An example of an authentic activity would be creating a bill and having a mock vote in order to turn that bill into a law. Having students analyze different parts of an event in history will help cut down processing time for groups and help build on their knowledge.<br>(Jigsaw lesson) For example, students could analyze different causes of WW2 from the perspective of different countries.  <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Service Learning </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Service Learning for a History/ Social Studies class could be having the class run a donation of food or resources for a good cause. Taking these resources as a class to a food bank or homeless shelter would help students to build their own opinions on the importance of welfare or social help programs.
