What is mindful photography?

Mindfulness means living in the present moment. Essentially, it means being (intentionally) more aware and awake to each moment and being fully engaged in what is happening in one's surroundings – with acceptance and without judgment.

Mindful Photography allows you to take some time out and begin to nurture awareness in yourself and your surroundings. Practising mindful photography is the perfect way to  unwind, look at the world with fresh eyes, and express yourself creatively.

 Five Tips for Mindful Photography

1. Take your time. Don't feel rushed to take a photograph. Relax. Take a deep calming breath. Look around. What catches your eye?

2. Pay attention to your surroundings. Notice the colours, textures, and patterns in the scene you are photographing.

3. Be present in the moment.

4. Focus on the process.

5. Click and take the photo. Doesn’t that feel good?

6. Enjoy.

Spanish, Cypriot and Polish students take photos while attending the mobility in Brzozów. In pairs they choose 1 photo each day and share it on Padlet with the rest of the students. Each photo should have an interesting title and a short description.
