Post Care: Keep wound closed and covered to prevent infection

A laceration occurs when a blunt object hits the skin on a hard boney area resulting in a jagged cut.

Initial Care: Clean the wound and stop bleeding if the cut is deep enough stiches may be needed to close the wound

Post Care: Keep closed wound clean and prevent it from reopening

A incision wound is similar to a laceration however they have straight ends and are not very jagged

Initial care: Clean the wound and cover it like a laceration if the wound is deep enough it may need stitches

Post Care: Keep Wound closed and clean to prevent infection

Punctures

Puncture Wounds are common during physical activity and if powerful and deep enough can be fatal puncture wounds have a high risk of infection as well as heavy bleeding

Initial care : Immediately seek a physician puncture wounds like Lacerations are very dangerous and sometimes fatal

Post Care : Follow instructions of physician and keep wound Clean safe and take any medication for things like tetanus

Avulsion

Avulsion Wounds result from skin tearing off the body resulting in a large opening at high risk for infection and most likely heavy bleeding

Initial Care: to treat torn tissue place gauze with a saline solution keeping the wound clean while it heals

Post Care: Keep wound closed clean and replace gauze when they are no longer suitable

When caring for a wound you should always take precautions to make sure you don't re open the wound as well as do everything to prevent risk of infection an infected wound may result in the persons condition declining with the wound and opens possibilities to illnesses
