1. Tenemos en un recipiente agua y en otro arena
2. Mezclamos ambas sustancias, en este caso el soluto (arena) mas el disolvente (agua) en un recipiente y agitamos con una cuchara o varilla.
3. Preparamos la filtración con un recipiente vacío y limpio con el embudo ya puesto con el papel filtro bien colocado y húmedo para su adherencia.
4. Revolvemos con la varia la mezcla y la vertimos en el embudo con papel filtro.
5. Si vemos los componentes o sustancias presentes entonces será una mezcla heterogénea. ¿Para qué nos sirve esto? Pues así sabremos que método u operación sencilla podemos optar a hacer. Si una mezcla es homogénea entonces es una disolución, pero nunca una mezcla heterogénea será una disolución.

¿Por qué es necesario manejar bien las operaciones sencillas del laboratorio? Las operaciones sencillas del laboratorio son la columna o base de cualquier estudiante o científico. Saber los procedimientos correctos al realizar una de estas operaciones como ser la filtración, decantación, disolución y precipitación nos garantizara el éxito en nuestra practica a la hora de investigar algo. Previo a esto es de suma importancia conocer el equipo y material del laboratorio con su respectivo uso. Cada una de las operaciones distintas del laboratorio nos permitirá hacer experimentos y cálculos donde todo concuerde con la teoría. Finalmente hemos aprendido a diferenciar y ver cual técnica u operación nos conviene mas a la hora de realizar un experimento y determinar alguna cualidad o cantidad para un cálculo.
