We remember all 6 million jews ( 2 million kids among them!) who was murdered in gas death chambers by Nazi during the Second World War. Our students make trips to Poland to the places of Getto in oder to remind the World about the crimes of Nazi Germany.
In Israel there is a minute when the whole nation is standing still to the memory of Jewish people. It is amazing to observe every year.
I am sending you a video. Have a look!

In our country we call this day "yom haatzmaut". in this day we come out to the streets at night and selebrate with fireworks, food stands, spray cans filled with fake snow and strings and much much more. This is one of the most interesting and fun events of the year. usually, in the morning after the celebrations most of the people go out to a park or to the seaside and having a bbq with their family and friends.

We get to eat unhealthy food that no one can ressist. Hanukkah lasts for 8 days and that is because of the story behind this holiday. According to the story, there wasn't enough oil to light up the candles, But a miracle happened and there was enough oil for 8 days. Thats also the reason why we eat food wit ha lot of oil in them for exmaple: doughnuts.

Hello, my name is Madeleine Freire, I am from Ecuador, in my country it is common to celebrate the carnival in different ways, one of them is the Guaranda carnival, it is an authentic cultural expression, of deep popular tradition that unites the Indian-mestizo culture, and that a religious manifestation gives way to Lent. The couplets and the game with water are the most distinctive of this carnival. These couplets are popular letters that mention happiness, customs, love, heartbreak, sadness, infatuation, etc.
The last day of carnival is done in a symbolic act represented by a small coffin that is thrown into the Guaranda River until it disappears.

On that special day my nana makes a big meal for everyone, specially "seco de pollo" that is basically juicy chicken, we also make a big doll made of old clothes, cardboard and newspaper. At about 11:45 pm we burn it and we jump on it, that means the the bad things that happened during the year is finally dying.

Hello, my name is Nicole Cajiao. I am going to tell you about a tradition in Ecuador that, like in other countries, we celebrate the day of the deceased on November 2 of each year, this day we remember those who are no longer among us, relatives visit loved ones who have died in the cemetery. The most striking thing about this tradition is its gastronomy in which purple colada is prepared, which is a thick purple drink, it is prepared with typical Ecuadorian fruits, spices, herbs and flour of purple corn or black corn. It is also customary to accompany the purple laundry by the famous guaguas de pan, they are sweet breads in the form of figures or dolls.

Whether you're a train enthusiast or not, this spectacular part of the Andes mountains near the town of Alausí is best seen aboard one of the country's superbly restored railways, part of a network that stretches across the country to some of its most scenic locations.

¡Hey¡ My name is Melanny. I am from Ecuador. An interesting tradition in my country is the celebration at the end of the year. On this day, the people make family dinners and buy or make a doll known as “Año Viejo”. At night, the whole family and friends gather to say goodbye to the year. At 12:00 AM the people burn the “Año Viejo” for all the bad things that happened in the year. Also, people eat grapes, making a wish with each grape. After, you dance and enjoy the new year.
