In Things Fall Apart okonkwo and unoko have a different relationship than the people in my poem. Okonkwo and Unoko have a torn relationship. While the people in the poem have a loving and wholesome relationship. Okonkwo resents his father, but the daughter in the poem loves and appreciates her mother. They also contrast because the daughter sees everything her mom has done for her and Okonkwo looks at his father with disgust. In conclusion, the two people differ greatly.

This is similar to the book when Okonkwo never spends time with his son. The only difference is the Dad in the poem doesn’t have time, whereas Okonkwo doesn’t want to spend time with his son because he thinks he is weak.

Okonkwo’s relationship with his father, Unoka, is very different than the mother and son in the poem. In the poem I read, the mother is cradling her son while telling him all of the things she loves about him. She mentions his features, his personality, and his laugh. She puts her son to bed and tells him she loves him. Okonkwo’s relationship to his dad is not like this. Okonkwo hates his dad and does not care for anything he does. Unoka does not care for his son either. They do not have a strong relationship like the mother and son in the poem.

The relationship between Okonkwo and Nwoye was bad in the beginning of the story because he thought Nwoye was weak and lazy, but now Okonkwo is starting to think different of Nwoye now that Nwoye has been spending more time with Ikemefuna. The relationship between the poem and the book is the poem shows that there are challenges between the father and son, but no matter what happens the father will always love his son.

In the poem he was sweet and gentle to his child ,but in thing fall apart his dad was more of a coward then the son who was more powerful. He is very neglecting to his child and very lazy. But in the poem he is very nice and gentle to his little newborn. That is the relationship and how i compare these two.

In “Things Fall Apart,” Okonkwo and Unoka have a strained relationship. This shows in Chapter One where Unoka talks about his father in a negative way. The relationship between Okonkwo and Unoka is vastly different from the relationship of the parent and child in the poem. The parent and child relationship in the poem is a healthy, strong and loving relationship, which Okonkwo and Unoka do not have.

Okonkwo and Nwoye’s relationship compares to the relationship between the parent and child in the poem by finding key comparisons between each other. The poem talks about a parent’s heart and how a parent only wants what is best for their child, they want to see their child succeed. In comparison, Okonkwo wants Nwoye to succeed and not be lazy. Okonkwo wants his son to be like him and have power. In the poem, the parent only wants their child’s life to be successful and full of happiness. Okonkwo is a parent who sees their child as unsuccessful and wishes his son followed in his footsteps, whereas the parent in the poem just wished success upon their child.

In “Things Fall Apart,” Okonkwo and his father Unoka do not have a good relationship. Okonkwo shows in chapter one how he thought his dad was lazy and he always talked about him in a negative way. In the poem I read the mom and the child had a good relationship. These are different because in the book the dad and the son have a bad relationship and in the poem the mom and the child have a good relationship. In the poem the child is saying how he appreciates his mom and says how smiles makes the child feel happy. The relationship in the book and the relationship in the poem are very different.

They also both hope and strive to be the favorite son. Okonkwo relates to the father by the way that they both look like the perfect man, or god, to their sons.
