         <description><![CDATA[<div>when in the trenches there was little to no food, no showers or bathrooms, rats were everywhere, gun fire 24/7 so one could not simple look out without the threat of being shot on the spot. No gas masks or protective gear so everyone was exposed and died almost instantly. No fire place to get warm. No extra clothes. Bob wires everywhere. Life in the trenches was unsanitary, traumatizing, and left men feeling no hope that they were ever going to survive. </div>]]></description>

Airplanes- reconnaissance, bombing, and fighting. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Sinking of the Lusitania</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On May 7 1915, just after the war began the RMS Lusitania was sunk by Germany. This was a British boat that was going back to England from New York. There were over 1100 deaths on the boat filled with 1900 people. There were also over 100 US citizens that were killed on the boat. This was a significant event that turned everyone against Germany. The US entered the war just two years after the sinking of the Lusitania.</div>]]></description>
