Both Sources are different in terms of their perspective on the increase of GST. Source B states “Increasing GST would help fund expenditure in areas like healthcare, security, education and development of singapore’s infrastructure” This means that the finance minister believes that increasing the GST will be more proficient and beneficial for the country and it’s citizens. But Source C states “An increase in GST is another burden, especially for the poor and lower income group”. This means that the protesters are unsupportive towards the increase in GST because it will cause a negative impact on people who are currently struggling already.

Both sources are different in terms of how the increase of gst is going to affect the people. Source b states " we do have other means of increasing givernment revenue, such as the upcoming e-services tax, tobacco tax and existing corprate tax." This means that there will be an increase of government revenues hence making the lower income more financially unstable as their expense will increase. But source c states "alternatives to the gst increase should he considered-including taxes on the wealthy and using revenues from land sales." This means that the lower class people wants the government to get the wealthy to pay the taxes and use their land from land sales rather than the lower income paying the taxes.

Source B states " it's not the singapore way to use the reserves. Currently 50% of the government investments go into the country's reserves. " This means that the government is trying to convey the fact that the cannot just anyhow use the money and that they have to put the money as back up for the nation's needs in the future. But Source C states " Why keep so much reserves of about 9.6 billion if it's not used to increase the nation's needs.

Both sources are different in terms of who the author wants to target.Souces B states" Increasing GST would help fund in areas like healthcare, security, education and development of Singapore infrastructure".Thia means that the author is trying to target the whole of Singapore. But Souce C states" Alternatives to the GST increase shuld be considered instead - including taxes on the wealthy and using more revenue from land sales". This means thta the author is trying to target the wealthy due to them being economically stable than otthers.
