Chauvelin didn't find anyone in the dining room except Sir Percy, so he says that Armands life is hanging on by a thread

Sir Percy and Marguerite get into a really big fight outside of their house because she wants to go on a walk but he doesn't. Marguerite thinks that he doesn't love her anymore but she now loves him and made a vow to make him fall back in love with her

She finds the Scarlet Pimpernel ring and discovers that Sir Percy is the Scarlet Pimpernel

Suzanne tells her that the Scarlet Pimpernel is going to save her father

Marguerite makes a plan with Sir Andrew to save Sir Percy

The two have to wait at the shore for a few days because there is a storm they need to wait to end

When they get to France they go into the Chat Gris which is a disgusting tavern. They talk to the owner who says he's seen Sir Percy, so they decide to wait for him there. Marguerite goes up to one of the rooms and then watches out the window for her husband

She sees Sir Percy come in and watches on as he tricks Chauvelin and gets away, during this Marguerite keeps talking about how in love with him she is

She gets found by Chauvelin and he says that if she screams he'll kill the three men in the hut, but she screams anyways and the men got away

She realizes the jew whose getting beaten is Sir Percy

The Scarlet Pimpernel gave a note to Sir Andrew, but Marguerite saw this and tries to look at it. The letter says how he will be in the dining room waiting for Andrew

When Chauvelin enters the dining room all he sees is Sir Percy sleeping, so he hides in the shadows waiting for the Scarlet Pimpernel

Chauvelin was angry that he hadn't found the Scarlet Pimpernel, so he threatened Marguerite with her brothers life again

A scarlet pimpernel ring was found by Marguerite at her house which made her suspect Sir Percy

The letter exposing Armand as a spy for the Scarlet Pimpernel was sent back to Marguerite, which meant that Chauvelin discovered who the Scarlet Pimpernel was

Sir Percy is revealed as the Scarlet Pimpernel, but he is going back to France to save Susannes father, the Comte

Sir Percy keeps up his foolish act to keep Chauvelin guard down and he offers him some "sniff" which Chauvelin then takes and immediately starts choking and coughing, because in reality it was pepper that Sir Percy had given him. While Chauvelin is coughing Sir Percy makes his escape.

Sir Percy offers him something to snort, which he then accepts, but it turns out it was pepper so then Chauvelin would start to cough and choke, allowing Sir Percy to get away. Chauvelin runs after him and commands his men to find the tall Englishman, but he might be slouching to disguise his height.

Chauvelin is taken to Armand, the Comte, and Sir Andrew by a Jewish man in a wagon, but the Scarlet Pimpernel isn't there so they wait for him

Chauvelin beats the Jewish man who is secretly Sir Percy
