The villagers would sentence the suppose witches by death which is by hanging. The reason why I choose this picture is because, it is always the women who are being killed for doing this that rent normal. If you realized that woman are always killed or accused for doing  everything involving witch craft but they never assume its the male who ever dose it

The witches would perform rituals around a fire or pot with something cooking in it. They look old and angry because they were supposed to be evil and unholy. This relates to The Crucible because at the beginning there were girls around a fire while a "witch" performs rituals and places spells on people according to the girls wishes. They believed that the witches were evil because they weren't the same as others. The feeling of knowing that they could get hurt or cursed by the witch is what's made the most hang the witch. I chose this image due to it representing what they thought witches looked like and did. They believed they had cauldron and had the appearance of an old lady with very definite facial feature. 
During the Salem Witch Trials, the colonists were extremely afraid of these witches, since they have an unnatural and "devil" like stereotypes. Thus quickly spreading fear since the colonists hated things they did not understand. Thus representing image #3 which shows them arresting an old lady whom they believe is a witch. They later do image #2 depending on the severity of the "strength" of the witch.
