We have been made aware that several titles in the ‘According to Humphrey’ series contain a weblink at the back of the book that no longer directs people to information about the books. Instead, the link has been compromised and now leads to inappropriate and unsafe material that should not be accessed by children at any age.

Below are images of some of the front covers in the series to help you identify the books should you have any at home. The link can be found on the back cover or may be also included on a page inside.

For clarity and reassurance, we are not aware of any children who have accessed this link at our school and have removed copies of the book with the weblink from school circulation.

Actions and Next Steps:

§  If you have any of these books at home, we advise you to remove them immediately or remove the page with the weblink.

§  Be extra-vigilant with all children’s books that contain links and ensure that they are checked by an adult.

Alongside this we will also have a range of information workshops both face to face and online.

You can anonymously report online images or videos showing the suspected sexual abuse of children here.

We do this through our education programme, providing training, resources and information to professionals working with children, young people and their families.

Relationships.

We offer support to women who are struggling with their mental health, and all victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence and abuse.

We bring belief, hope and long term recovery to lives affected by substance use and multiple disadvantages.

Our programmes combine bespoke classroom training with a work placement, 121 career coaching and mentoring. 

We exist to facilitate our Mums to become the best versions of themselves, whatever that looks like. Ambition is unique to an individual and we always aim to help someone identify it and then take the necessary steps to achieve it.

Parents and carers who would like to understand more about how grooming and exploitation can happen online and what they can do to keep their child safe, can join free online information sessions in September and October, led by Avon and Somerset Police.

“Keeping your child safe online” sessions will take place on Tuesday 29 September from 7.00 pm to 8.30 pm and Tuesday 6 October, from 1.00 pm to 2.30 pm, with Child Exploitation Prevent and Coordinator Officer Andri Nicolaou.

Andri will share information, advice and tips to help parents and carers create a safer digital space for children and young people. The session will explore the different forms, exploitation can take, the warning signs to look out for, the practical steps they can take to help protect young people online and how to reach out for help.
