Injury risk: "Shaking can cause brain injury, cerebral palsy, blindness, hearing loss, learning and behavior problems, seizures, paralysis, and death. It is estimated that 1,000-3,000 children in the United States suffer from SBS each year." - New York State Department of Health.

- Active and passive surveillance: incidence rates of SBS and forms of physical abuse in 0-2 year old infants are collected.

We chose resource two and found case study three, which discusses concussions and concussion prevention. In the Energy, Host, Environment model, the host is the person being concussed, energy is the impact on the victim's head, and environment is what causes the concussion, usually a fall (32.5%). An example of prevention for the release of energy would be wearing a seatbelt while driving to help prevent injuries. An example of a barrier between the host and the environment would be wearing a helmet while riding a bike.
