         <title>Liberty and Authority</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Liberty and Authority was a major part of the Declaration of Independence. The Colonists wanted to have liberty and not be under the king anymore. Thomas Jefferson wrote, "... declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown,..." He is saying that he believes that the colonies should be on their own and not under british rule.<br>-Declearation of Independece</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Patriotism is very relivent in the revolutionary period. During this time most colonists were patriots. Meaning they were angry with the king and really wanted freedom. "For my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery..." An example of this is in the Declaration of Independence. Many of the colonist were tired of the british control and were ready for a change.          <title>Greed and Selfishness</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The patriots of the colonies thought King George III was being selfish and greedy. They thought this because of the taxes that were being inforce on them. Patrick Henry saw an opportunity to make this a point at the Virginia Convention. His most famous statement from the convention was "Give me liberty, or give me death." He is saying this to King George III because he was being controlling, selfish and taxing for his own benefit.&nbsp;<br>-Speech in the Virginia Convention</div>]]></description>

         <title>Power</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Power represents the revolutionary Period very well. The king wanted power over the colonies so he can claim them as his own. In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson said "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." He stating that the king is violating their rights and abusing his power.<br>-Declaration of Independence</div>]]></description>
