“Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come. It is like a man traveling abroad. He leaves home and places his servants in charge, each with his own work, and orders the gatekeeper to be on the watch. Watch, therefore; you do not know when the Lord of the house is coming, whether in the evening, or at midnight, or at cockcrow, or in the morning. May he not come suddenly and find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to all: ‘Watch!’”

But now we must celebrate and rejoice, because your brother was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.’”

“His son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you; I no longer deserve to be called your son.’ But his father ordered his servants, ‘Quickly bring the finest robe and put it on him; put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Take the fattened calf and slaughter it. Then let us celebrate with a feast, because this son of mine was dead, and has come to life again; he was lost, and has been found.’” 

The lesson I learned from that parable was that no matter how far away we try to go from our father, once we come back he will still accept us. Our father is very forgiving and cares so much about us. Sometimes we tend to forget about him and move away from him. But once we unite with him after some time, he will always accept us back with open arms. As long as we ask for forgiveness sincerely.

and to the hills, ‘Cover us!’ for if these things are done when the wood is green what will happen when it is dry?” Now two others, both criminals, were led away with him to be executed.

One day you will have to answer for your actions and God will not be so merciful then.
