Hi, everyone! My name is Ava Humphries. I am a junior at UCO, and I am majoring in Early Childhood Education.

Why Speech?

Although it is required that I take this course, I am excited to learn and apply the skills of effective communication. In almost every workplace and professional environment, effective communication is required for success. I plan to be a teacher which will require me to effectively communicate via teaching to large and small groups of kids. My hope is that this course will prepare me for my career as an educator.

THE Captain America

My favorite superhero is Captain America for more than one reason. Captain America has strong morals that never waiver, even when everyone else tells him to compromise them. He was selfless and brave before he became a superhero. He is the leader of the Avengers, not because he demands it but because he is humble and is respected by the team. In addition, Captain America is played by the lovely Chris Evans, which doesn't hurt.
