Many criticisms of the World Trade Organization have been put forth, many critiques of which come from anti-globalization groups. The WTO deems these critiques "Misinformation" on their website. Some critiques launched against the WTO include the belief that they are profiting off of some countries' lack of labor and human rights, as well as the idea that globalization is doing serious harm to the environment and that it is actively serving the interests of large and important corporations. These critiques are valid, as many of the exports and imports supervised by the WTO contain traces of poor labor practices and/or are doing active harm to the environment- especially concerning the trade of oil and other fuels that contribute to pollution and ultimately worsen the climate crisis.

NAFTA was initially established as a means of creating a free trade zone among the North American countries (Mexico, Canada, and the United States). However, many people in these countries have serious doubts as to how advantageous NAFTA is to any of them. When NAFTA was first enacted, less than half of Canadians actually supported the trade agreement. In its later years, half of the American population and half of the Mexican population believed that it was not a beneficial agreement. All three countries agreed that NAFTA was not benefitting them, and so they set off to renegotiate it, with aims to strengthen North American competition with the rest of the world, as well as to implement environmentally friendly procedures and better labor conditions.

L'Oreal made unsubstantiated claims that two of the company's skin care products was able to provided anti-aging benefits through the targeting of the customer's genes- a claim which is in no way backed up by science. The settlement concludes that L'Oreal is no longer permitted to claim that any of their products are able to alter the user's genetic information or to make any other claims regarding the speed at which their products work without having any substantial scientific evidence.

L'Oreal also failed to put forth any sort of clear statement on the usage of toxics in their products.

While the Universal Declaration of Human rights protects the rights of individuals to have adequate living standards, the United States' Bill of Rights does not. This is an article that is not always adhered to in countries which have accepted the Declaration, as these countries still have homeless populations. The US likely has not adopted this right because it is so difficult to enforce, and although this right is something that everyone should be afforded, it is evident that the United Sates government- although definitely possessing the funds and ability to help decrease homelessness through action and policy- does not believe that it is capable of ensuring such rights to all its citizens.
