Each video presented a unique perspective on the networking lunch, combining observational footage, cutaways and ambient sound to construct an engaging narrative that reflected the purpose and atmosphere of the event. Collectively, the seven videos demonstrate a range of creative choices, pacing, framing and post-production styles, highlighting how different audiences and messages can be shaped from the same live brief.

The videographers involved were Liam, Chloe, Amber, Anna, Niamh, Nick and Lili, each responsible for their own final edit. Their work evidences strong autonomous practice, technical competence and an understanding of media language appropriate for promotional and documentary-style content. Together, the outputs form a cohesive portfolio that effectively communicates the value of the T Level and Foundation Year pathways while showcasing the students’ developing skills as emerging media practitioners.

WMG Academy Trust, across its Solihull and Coventry campuses, has successfully integrated a live, industry-led engineering project into the T-Level curriculum. In partnership with Birmingham Airport (BHX), students are tasked with redesigning the ‘Air Rail Link’—the critical transit system connecting the airport station to the main terminal.
