Working with the Chepang community showed me the importance of community support and resilience. I saw how the community supports each other, whether through shared educational efforts, communal farming, or preserving traditional skills and knowledge. We also organized a donation drive to support the Basic school located in Mathilo orbang. Together, we collected essential supplies, such as clothes, food, and school materials, aiming to make a difference in their daily lives. This project reminded us of the power of community service and how much we can accomplish by working together.

Our three-day community service at Chepang Basti was both eye-opening and rewarding. During our time there, we donated educational materials to the local school, hoping to support the children’s learning and provide resources that could make a lasting difference. We also visited various parts of the community and had meaningful interactions with the Chepang people, who shared stories of their traditions, challenges, and resilience. One of the highlights was trying out the traditional tools they use daily, which gave us a glimpse into their resourcefulness and unique way of life. The experience was both humbling and inspiring, reminding us of the importance of preserving and learning from diverse cultures.
