He also oversees patient admittance and discharge. Before joining the Novant Health team in 2010, Dr. Amsalu Bizuneh practiced internal medicine in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Among his other areas of medical expertise, he supports a strong interest in the treatment of bipolar disorder. In addition to his accomplishments in the healthcare field, Dr. Amsalu Bizuneh has established himself as a filmmaker, both writing and producing the documentary film Born to Run: A Tale of Endurance. This film told the personal stories behind professional marathon runners as they trained for the US Men’s Olympic Marathon Trials in 2007. In addition to his love of marathon running, Dr. Bizuneh is an avid golfer who regularly competes in amateur tournaments.
