At a high school level, students take an ESL class instead of taking an elective. This program provides most students with technology for testing and learning fundamentals in the English language. The program accepts students who do not speak English as their first language. When a student integrates school without knowing English, he/she is placed in an ESL classroom for some time during their school day. Once they get better understanding they are then placed in their classroom once again. This program is not an all-day program where the student can stay there the entire school day. The student will be tested a couple times a year to see progress being made.
