She also said the changing in policies was not related to LGBT rights in Hong Kong, and the government stressed that the move only affects the non-local dependants of SAR residents.

The article is about why using the Chinese marriage "One man one woman" to go against the sam-sex marriage is misleading.
Concubine system is mentioned in most of this article. Which it was legal since 1970 in Hong Kong. Concubine system is basically when a man marries more than one wife. It is widespread in China from a long time ago until now, in the past Chinese emperors was allowed to have more than one wife and concubine system is so popular that there were concubines where one man marries a lot of wives. Until now, many Hong Kong well known tycoons did this same thing as well to marry more than one wife and give birth to childrens by their concubine.
Regina Yip used concubine system in this article as to tell readers why we shouldn't use chinese wedding tradition to against same-sex marraige, which I agree with. Concubine system is widespread in Chinese history and is legalised eventhough it is not following the one man one woman tradition, so why not allowing same sex marrige legalised?
