Lau Pa Sat (also called Telok Ayer Market) is one of Singapore’s most iconic hawker centers. It's located right in the heart of the Central Business District, surrounded by tall modern buildings, but inside it feels like stepping into history. The building itself is over 120 years old and features beautiful Victorian-era iron architecture , really unique compared to other hawker centers.

what makes lau pau sat famous ?

At night, a section of the street next to it (Satay Street) closes to traffic and transforms into a giant open-air BBQ area filled with satay stalls.

You can enjoy sticks of freshly grilled satay (chicken, beef, lamb, or prawn) served with rich peanut sauce.

Besides satay, Lau Pa Sat also offers local favorites like Hokkien mee, fried carrot cake, and seafood dishes.

It’s a popular spot for both locals and tourists, especially for late-night eating.

It’s a great blend of historic charm, delicious street food, and lively atmosphere

BBQ seafood is a signature food at Lau Pa Sat because of its vibrant night-time scene, where the streets outside the market turn into a lively outdoor grill area. Stalls freshly barbecue seafood like stingray, prawns, and squid, often coated with spicy sambal sauce. The smoky aroma, spicy flavors, and communal dining style make BBQ seafood a must-try experience, perfectly capturing the lively spirit and multicultural flavors of Singapore’s hawker culture.

1 ) hi my name is nazirah

2) today we’re reviewing one of Indonesia’s most famous comfort foods which is Bakso . its very meaty and soupy , base on singaporeans , they said it is very nice . lets find out

3)bakso is a meatball soup made from ground beef or chicken , served in a clear broth with noodles , tofu and sometimes stall owners that sells bakso serve it with eggs and they also have a bunch of optional toppings like sambal , fried wontons , and sweet soy sauce

4) lets start with the good stuff of this bakso . the flavour of this bakso is packed with umami , and the meatballs are juicy and springy . the bakso is also customizable , like for example for spicy lovers , you guys can put sambal on how much you like into your bakso , and if you are not a spicy lover , dont bother putting sambal .

5) every food review has a dislike , ill tell you what i dislike about the bakso . the texture of the bakso can be a bit much if youre not used to eating bakso , its super bouncy , and the meat texture is abit rubbery , is just make me feels like you are biting into a rubber eraser , but it is also depending on which shop you get the bakso from , some bakso broth at diiferent places can either be oily or just lack of seasoning , some stall also may go overboard for their MSG , it can make you full or bloated after eating . and lastly lets talk about the quality . not all bakso is created equal , some place are questionable meat or cut corners of hygine , especially on cheaper spots . so if you guys want to eat bakso i suggest looking carefully.

6) final thought on this bakso , really nice and i give it a 8/10 , not the best but not to bad too , they are not selfish on their toppings . Bakso is classic for a reason , its warm , hearty and deeply satisfying

, but its not without flaws . if you guys want to visit bukit batok west hawker center to have your breakfast or lunch or dinner , i suggest trying this bakso , i give it a chef kiss . thats ll for the review for today , thank you for your kind attention on this review . bye everybody !
