The QR code could be an instrument to involv student. I used it in a project for treasure hunt. QR codes were the messages to go forward and to solve. Also QR code could be a way to involve the comunity in a science and math exhibition of the school.

In maths provide some data on a paper handout with a QR code for an online graphing tool like Create- a- Graph.

I think that adding QR codes allows students to use task cards and get immediate feedback. The versatility of task cards already makes them great, but with QR codes they get just a little more awesome.Working in partners, students tackle problems together. When they arrive at an answer, they can immediately check if they are correct.

I have seen my colleagues especially the ones involved in etwinning projects using QR codes to assign tasks to their students and I was kind of curious to find out about them so I included them in my list of new things to learn. Now while doing this course, I am given the chance to try my hand at them and see how they work in class. It makes the lesson, I guess, more interesting, but I would like to see how else we could use them apart from being used to reveal the solution to a math problem or give instructions to students. Sure, a math class is by far more things than just getting instructions or finding the solution. So, I see QR codes as actually facilitating teaching rather than making students think, at least in the examples I have seen.

I see one big disadvantage in using QR-codes: Students need access to the internet. As we don't have WLAN in school, they would have to use their private internet connection. Many students, especially elder ones, don't like that.

I have used QR-codes in connection with a calculater from Casio. The model fx-991DEX can generate QR-codes. You can scan these codes with every QR-code scanner directly from the calculator. The webpage then might show you the graph of your function, the respective table or the equation of the fuction. It is clearly not an alternative to GeoGebra but it is also very useful.

A possible way to use it would be to create a worksheet that has qr codes besides each problem. Upon scanning the code a step by step tutorial is launched in YouTube explaining the process of solving the problem. At the moment I use QR codes to access extra resources but a good way to use QR codes is to do a Maths trial to cover topics already done.

I don't actually have any idea about using QR codes in Maths classroom.

I´ve used QR codes for a treasure hunt. I put the codes all over the school. Students had to go in groups to find the codes and in each one there was a problem. I gave them some time and the group which has more correct answers win.
It was really fun, children loved it and they love going out of the classroom!

It's nice but it's only a different modality of provide informations... instead of giving the informations by paper, by email, .... it's possible gives to the students a QR code and they with their smartphone can visualize the informations...

I try to be “green” when teaching so I can hide the homework under a QR code and give just the code to the students – especially projecting the code. The students have a QR code reader app on their phone so they can scan the code at the end of classroom and the link is on their phone to use it.

In a workshop I heard about an other great idea: organise Scavenger Hunt for the students. As a contest we can hide the codes in different parts of the school. When the students find the codes they can scan it and get the puzzle. If the solve it, it can lead to the next code. It is a great idea, but I have not tried it yet.

I have created and posted QR codes but only for administrative purposes since it is forbidden for primary school students in my country to bring at school any mobile digital device, phone or tablet. So, QR codes are not an official option in the Greek primary school and can be used by students only when they are at their homes or through their teachers’ digital devices. Nevertheless, I would use QR codes as a mean to personalize and differentiate my teaching by instantly delivering a message, an activity or a feedback to a student’s mobile device.

I think QR code could be useful to involve students. Some years ago in a course called "Smart and Applet" organized by A.I.F., we were proposed to organize a treasure hunt in the school where students should make some experimental measures in the Physics lab and solve some exercises and problems of Maths in order to find the next clue, given through a QR code. I think it is a way to have fun while learning and students like it since it is smart and new.
There is also a project in my school for disabled people, with QR code that reproduce the image of some historical locations. I think the most important aspect of QR code is accessibility so it addresses mainly disabled people.

QR codes are useful for math classes as any other tool. From my point of view, it is a somewhat limited resource because its usual use is to hide information. We can do that in other ways that does not require an electronic device.

Incorporating QR codes into my teaching was one of the best things I've done as a teacher! It's super easy and makes learning so fun, not only for Maths. Currently my students are building an "digital herbarium" for the city park with this tool.

I have used QR codes as a scavenger hunt type activity to review for an assessment before. Students had to find different codes around the school and scan them to get a link to a question. They then answered the question via a google form which meant that I could track their answers and visit groups that might need help

I didn't know the use of QRcodes for teaching purposes. I was surprised and interested. Using them could be a great way to bring students closer to mathematics, as they can learn by playing and using smartphones. It is also a very functional strategy for pupils with disabilities or learning difficulties. They would allow for inclusive lessons.

I teach in a primary school (6 - 15) and our students are not allowed to use their phones in a school, except when a teacher allows, but this is rare. I will try to put solutions of exercices on a worksheet so they can check at home.

I never used QR code in a math context. I found it useful to involve all students in an activity that includes, for example, sharing links. My students bring their own tablets to school, so it's easier to reach resources without losing time and decreasing the possibility of errors, for example copying a URL on the blackboard.

I was familiar with it but i have not used it so far. I believe that scanning a QR code makes is easier for the younger students so they don’t have to type the long urls. It can also be used to provide an alternative access format for students who need additional support in reading and writing or toaward a prize for good work or good behavior.

I think it can be useful and stimulating, especially for young students: few weeks ago I had the chance to get some ideas about it during a lab. We can use QR codes for a treasure hunt, so at every station participants (maybe in groups) have to find the question scanning the code and of course they have to give the right answer in order to proceed. I don not see the utility in losing time scanning a code for checking a simple result. Once more, it seems we can gat lost using technology just for technology.
