Pure Democracy Vs. Republic

A pure democracy is when the civilians can decide 100% what
happens in their countries government and whatever they
say is accepted as correct. A republic is when the civilians
provide ideas to make permanent laws that will decide what is
acceptable and not acceptable to have in their government.
What we have in America is a Representative Democracy which
is when the civilians vote for people that will represent, or
choose what happens in the country.

Locke Vs. Hobbes

John Locke and Thomas Hobbes were two men who expressed their
opinions about government and their involvement with humans. John
Locke had a lot of faith in humanity, he believed that humans were born
a blank slate and the government influences them. Locke also believed
in the system of a Direct Democracy, meaning that he thought civilians
could make all the decisions about their government. Locke believed the
purpose of the government is to protect the civilians natural rights.
Opposing the Direct Democracy, Thomas Hobbes believed in the system
of a Absolute Monarchy. An absolute monarchy can be related to another
system called "Totalitarianism", where there is a leader that also decides
what happens in the country without any consent. Hobbes believed that
if the civilians were given the chance to run their government by themselves
than there would be chaos and the civilians would hurt themselves as well
as hurt others. So he believed the purpose of the government was to have
full control and to make sure that the civilians didn't hurt themselves or others.

The right of revolution is an Locke idea that the
United States adopted. The right of revolution
is when the government is not serving its
purpose, the people can overthrow it or change
it. The people can only have the right to do this
if the government is abusing its power too much
or has been for too long.

Declaration Of Indepence

The United States of America wrote the declaration
of independence so that we could tell Britain that
we wanted to become separate from them. In the
declaration of independence we complained about
how the King George was and how we wanted to be
able to choose our leader. We wanted to become like
all other countries and become equal to them. The
"spirit" of the declaration of independence is America
becoming its own country. The main points of the
declaration is the idea of life, liberty(Locke ideas),
and pursuit of happiness. The declaration of
independence was basically the starting document
of the United States.

Bill of Rights

The Bill of Rights is the first 10 amendments(Changes)
to the constitution. They are a list of rights that are
never supposed to go away. We have the bill of rights
because people in the United States feared that the
government would have too much power so the
people decided to have some rights that the
government couldn't take away. The bill of rights is a
very important component to the government.

John Locke had ideas that the United states of American saw
as useful elements that they should include in the Declaration
of independence. The ideas include consent of governed,
natural rights, right of revolution. Consent of the governed,
consent meaning "permission", obviously is saying that the
leader needs the consent, or permission of who they are
governing. Natural Rights, are the rights that you have when
you are born and cannot be taken away. The rights that were
taken away from Locke's ideas are Life, and Liberty.
