However, now finishing this course I now know that Educational Technology is using any type of technological device (i.e., computer, iPad/tablet, phones, etc.) and software along with educational theories to help students learn and create new experiences. Some examples of educational technology include SmartBoards, virtual reality headsets, computers, iPads/Tablets, and websites like Kahoot, EdPuzzle, Class Dojo, Padlet, Zoom, Google Classroom, and many more. Technology can help schools to function better and help struggling students with many reminders throughout the school year. Something from the video that stood out me was that it stated in the video, "Yesterday's Class/ Homework" and then when technology came into the classroom it stated in the video, "Today's Classroom/ Homework." This is showing that education is changing each and every day and even online education could become a part of the future. This creates a huge divide between schools. Those who have the resources are able to succeed with their studies while those who don't are struggling to keep up. This was seen during the COVID-19 pandemic when many students struggled to even go to online school. That is why it's important to create digital equity around the world. One way is to give students the access to essential services to use technology. This can help with the future of education if there is another transition to online learning.  I believe the digital divide still going to be an ongoing challenge in the future. His book was all about connecting lessons to the real world issues. When students connect what they are learning to the real world, they are going to remember these lessons more than if they were discussing them in class. When students get hands on experience, they feel more connected to what they are learning about. These types of real world experiences can help in the future when higher education students are looking for a job. As a future elementary school teacher, many professors want future teachers to get out into a classroom right away with Community Engagement Field Work. Having hands on experiences has helping me understand education more each year, and make connections to what I am learning. Teachers can also create educational experience students will remember by using technology in the classroom. Some activities include creating a game throughout the whole year, having students use concept of social media apps to learn, have them zoom with speakers and other students around the world, and much more.
