         <description><![CDATA[<div>Furman v. Georgia<br>Furman was robbing a home when he attempted to flee and in doing so tripped and fell, shooting the homeowner. He was convicted and sentenced to be executed for murder. This case deals with the constitutionality of the death penalty for ape and murder cases .<br>Gregg v. Georgia<br>Gregg was found guilty of robbery and murder and sentenced to death. Gregg claimed the death sentence violated the 8th and 14th amendments.</div>]]></description>

The shot killed the resident. Furman was then tried, convicted of murder and given the death penalty.<br><br>Gregg v. Georgia<br>Gregg was found guilty of burglary and murder. A jury sentenced him to death. Gregg did not think that he should have been given the death penalty because it violates the eighth and fourteenth amendments. He claimed that the death penalty was cruel and unusual punishment.</div>]]></description>
