The purpose of the document is that the Electoral college does not follow the democracy standards and should be replaced with something that follows the majority votes. A brief description of the article being the author critiquing the electoral college based off of the previous election outcomes and how it would be helpful for it no to exist. The intended audience are readers that are interested in election specifics and democratic systems. Logos and Pathos were used to show evidence of previous elections and state how people are disappointed in the electoral college. This article help define the topic by The source provides a clear argument against the electoral college, explaining how it fails to represent the popular vote and alters election outcomes. A weakness of the document is that it does not have a counterargument to base itself off of to provide a rebuttal to. This source is very useful for discussions about the shortcomings of the U.S. election system.

The purpose of the article is to show that the electoral college is useful and necessary for people that live in smaller states by population for them to be able to be heard. A brief description of the article is Blackwell explaining how the Electoral College ensures that everyone is represented for especially in smaller states. The intended audience would be people that the structure of the politics within the government is good as it already is. The document uses ethos and logos to provide backup through evidence that the electoral college has been helpful. To clarify, this article provides a stern argument for the electoral college to stay in place. The document does have a bias towards the keeping of the Electoral College and lacks a counterargument. This document is useful for the counterargument in my essay for a support of the Electoral College staying in place.

The purpose of the article is to show that the Electoral College has become undemocratic over time and should be abolished. A brief description is the author critiquing the group; invalidating the voter’s decision, prompting the results of the election to not be similar to the popular vote. The preferred audience leans towards people that are not very fond of the current U.S. electoral system. The article uses logos and pathos often to steer one’s opinion towards their own while also using evidence. The artice clarifies and challenges the legitimacy of the Electoral College, wondering if it is really for the people. It is also very biased not really accounting a counterargument for the reader to contemplate between. This document is highly relevant for my essay because it shows a good amount of evidence that could be used to support my claim.

The purpose of this passage is that the Electoral College has gradually, over time, steered away from the popular vote during the elections, changing presidential results. As a brief description, the author explains the fact that the Electoral College does not follow the majority of voters, knowing they have the power to change the trajectory of the entire election. The intended audience for an article like this are people that like reading about politics but also does not like the old practices of the government. The author is mainly using logos and ethos , using historical evidence, to be able to sustain their idea that voters are not thought of. For clarification, voters have lost their significance in the elections over time. This article is heavily against the Electoral College and does not provide a counterargument at all. This document relates to my essay by providing major historical evidence to back my thesis.
