Maximilien Robespierre was the leader of the Committee of Public Safety and greatly influenced the Reign of Terror. He enforced the idea that whoever disagreed with him or going against the Revolution had to be executed.
Time of Involvements in the Revolution: 1793-1794
Accomplishments: Some of his accomplishments are that he defended and solidified Revolutionary ideas. He strengthened the government and got rid of slavery as well.
Failures: Although he had some successes, he killed more that 17,000 people during the process. He was also hated greatly because he misused the guillotine, which led him to get executed.
How he reflected the Revolutionary values: Robespierre enforced Revolutionary thought by giving fear to the people and threatening to execute them if they were against it. He did this to have equality throughout France and was a radical thinker.
Role: He played a huge role in leading the Reign of Terror and the Committee of Public Safety. He went his way to defend the Revolution by executing people against those ideas.

The Jacobin Club consisted of radical thinkers and were a part of the French Revolution and the National Convention. However, the club ended up separating into two groups who were strongly against each other.
Time of Involvements in the Revolution: 1792-1794
Accomplishments: The Jacobins were able to retrieve a lot of political power as they grew into a nationwide republican movement. They established the Committee of Public Safety, executed King Louis XVI, and captured the Paris Commune.
Failures: The Jacobins failed to set up a workable constitutional monarchy and were part of the minority for some time. Because they were in favor of a republic rather than a monarchy, they executed King Louis XVI. Then Robespierre who was their leader inflicted the Reign of Terror that killed thousands of people and started to regret it.
How they reflected the Revolutionary values: The Jacobins Club group members were made up of radical thinkers and Robespierre, an example of a radical thinker, was their leader for a while. They were against monarchy and wanted the government to change and become republic.
Role: The Jacobins played a role of encouraging change in the governmental system for the better and started the Reign of Terror by executing King Louis XVI.

The Committee of Public Safety was formed by the National Convention. While it existed, Maximilian Robespierre was a leader. The Reign of Terror resulted from it and the main purpose of it was to protect French citizens from invaders.
Time of Involvements in the Revolution: 1793-1794
Accomplishments: An accomplishment of the Committee of Public Safety was that they helped out when the populace were in hard times such as shortage of food and offered protection. They also gained control of France during the Reign of Terror.
Failures: People were angered by them because they continued to let Robespierre continue on with the Reign of Terror that brought brutal results of many people being executed. As soon as Robespierre was executed, the Committee lost power.
How they reflected the Revolutionary values: Like the Jacobins, they were against a monarchy and wanted a republican government throughout the nation which supported a constitutional republic. They wanted to and changed the government system.
Role: The Committee of Public Safety's role was to protect the newly established republic against foreign attacks and internal rebellion.

After Robespierre was elected to the committee, 300,000 suspected enemies were arrested in less than a year. At least 10,000 of them died in prison and 17,000 were executed. This was caused because Robespierre influenced the idea of using radical ways to protect the country.
