This picture represent the lyric "There's far too many of you dying..." because it shows the soldiers taking care of a deceased body from war. Marvin Gaye was singing about how there were too many soldiers dying in the war.


This picture goes with "What's Going On" because Marvin Gaye wanted to spread peace over the Vietnam War. The picture is a protest that happened along with Marvin Gaye's message, Peace for war, no more war.

The whole story of Same Love is about being able to love who you want to love, no matter the race, gender, etc, which was and still is a large social issue of our time. This connects to the protest songs because the Vietnam War was a huge social issue in the 1950-1970s.  Each social issue is longs lasting and everyone has a different viewpoint on that specific topic.
