Morpheus Road; The light was a book that would keep you wanting more. It was full of mysteries. It starts off with a boy named Marshall Seaver. His mother had passed a couple of years back, she was a photographer and gave him something every time she came back from a trip. One of the items she gave him was a golden sphere. A few days before summer him and his best-friend got in a fight and he went home and threw the sphere at the wall. It shattered and blood was splattered on the well dripping to the floor. His dad came up and then the blood was gone.. This was the start to it all, the illusions, the deaths, the mysteries, etc. Marsh started seeing a character he drew that wanted to kill him. Cooper the best-friend goes missing and no one knows where he is. Marsh and Cooper's sister Sydney team up to solve the mysteries and to find Cooper. There is death and violence and fights along the way.. People are dead and it turns out that Gravedigger the drawing isn't even the reason.. It's a much bigger dark force... Overall it was a good book.

Everlost By Neal Shusterman

It starts off with a horrible accident resulting in the death of two young teenagers named Nick and Allie. They don't exactly make it to the bright light though and are knocked off of course. They landed in a forest. After nine months of dreamless sleep they awake to see a boy around the age of eleven. He does not know his name so they name him Lief. He explains ''Everlost" to them. You can only step on places where someone has passed, or a building that was loved was destroyed. The other part of the ground is just like quicksand. The only objects that pass through are either loved and destroyed, or fell through a random vortex. It is very easy to forget what you look like and your memories. They travel to New York, New York until they get to the Twin Towers. There they meet a girl named Mary whom is the leader of thousands of lost everlights that live in the building. The go on a great adventure. In the end of the book Nick finds out that if you hold a coin you can make it to the light.... but Mary and Nick isn't ready and turns into enemies. Overall it is a very interesting book that I highly recommend.

Have you ever wondered what life at a freak show would be, or how would life be if you had to go against your morals just to survive? In the last book Darren the protagonist just got turned into a half vampire to save his best friend Steve. While the antagonist is R.V (or Reggie) because he freed the Wolfman that got Darren’s new friend killed. The book has no certain time period although it can be inferred that it takes place in the late 90’s or early 2000’s also the setting jumps around a lot seeing how they are on the move for the good portion of the book but it does take place in a field, a small campsite and a train station (also a couple farms). One major conflict is when R.V releases the wolfman and it killed Sam and a few freaks. The second major conflict faced throughout the book is that Darren does not want to drink human blood even if it means he will die. The turning point is when Darren drinks the blood of his fallen friend to save the memories that would be lost. I would recommend this book to people who like long series.

By day, Darren and Evra enjoy being around humans again and doing human activities. Darren develops a close friendship with a girl his age named Debbie. Little did he know how much danger he would put Debbie in. By night, Mr. Crepsley is taking care of his business in the city. Unfortunately when corpses drained of blood are reported on the news Darren and Evra are compelled to find out who did it. What they find is far scarier than even they imagined. In Tunnels of Blood, Darren is again faced with decisions which will test his bonds of friendship and which could lead to horrifying consequences. The gripping plot continues. You won't put this book down until you are on the last page. Following his blood-curdling adventures in A Living Nightmare and The Vampire's Assistant, half-vampire Darren Shan is settling into his day-to-day life at Cirque Du Freak, the traveling freak show he has joined. But before he can get too cozy, his vampire master, Mr. Crepsley, whisks him off to the big city for a mysterious mission. Soon, Crepsley, Darren, and Evra the snake-boy are embroiled in a bloody battle of wits between the vampire community and a mad, "vampaneze," a creature from a separate, more murderous race of vampires. Along the way, Darren meets his first girlfriend, and winds up putting her life, as well as everyone else's, in grave danger.

At first Native Americans were not allowed to become soldiers. But the government later feels the need not only for Native Americans in general but for Navajos especially. Ned is sixteen and he must be eighteen to join the military. But, since he was born on a reservation there is no way of validating his age. So, he goes to parents to see if they will allow him but they deny it, though they said that if the war continues next year he may. He waits a year and his parents let him enlist. Ned later finds that Navajos are needed to create and use a code based on their own language, their sacred language that not too long ago the Navajos were strongly discourage from using. Since the Navajo language is very hard to understand it became a perfect code. Ned may not speak of his and the other Navajos’ job as code talkers and are remained top secret. He and the other Navajos are put in charge of radio communication in the field. He goes to many different islands in the Pacific, including Iwo Jima. After the war he is praised by people in the big cities while he is in his U.S. Marine uniform, but when he goes back to his home and sits in a bar he is thrown out for being “Indian”. Ned Begay finds that though Navajos have played a major part in the war they are treated just as badly as they did before it. The Navajos would not be awarded or even openly discussed for their efforts during the war until years later.
