Human activities such as:

Throwing Rubbish into drains

-Can contaminate the water

Releasing of toxic chemicals in the sea by factories

-Can contaminate the sea
-Kill and hurt marine life

Throwing trash on the beach

-Tide would bring trash into the ocean and contaminate it.

Human activities such as throwing rubbish down the drain, releasing toxins into the river [for factories to save costs] and lack of wastewater treating systems are what leads to water pollution. This affects us as chemical spills may kill the sea animals and also contaminate the animals which thus if us humans do eat it, we might get sick and/or even dearly pass. Water pollution also provides additional nutrients for algae to grow, thus leading to the death of sea plants as they cover all the sunlight that comes from the sky, once dead their decomposed body will be eaten by bacteria. This takes up dissolved oxygen in the ocean. What does that mean you ask? The sea animals will not have enough oxygen which leads to more deaths. In the end this leads to lesser sea animals for our survival.

Contaminated water is also not safe for us human to consume, if we do keep up with polluting water, we will not have enough water and that leads to dehydration. Yes yes, you may say that the ocean has plenty of water but that'd be salt water which is not safe for us to drink.

In conclusion if we do keep this up, we will suffer with the death of MILLIONS of sea animals and plants. At the end of the day, we too need water.
