atonement-reparation for a wrong or injury
redemption-the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil

These two are different because atonement is an action you must do in order to be forgiven while redemption is being forgiven/ saved for doing good. These two are similar because they both involve being forgiven in a way. I think both are possible for anyone however I would probably draw the line at intentional murder. I dont think someone like a serial killer deserves redemption and it isn't possible for him to atone.

I think I am a pretty good friend. I would say better than Amir. My friendship with others relies on how they treat me. If someone is not friendly with me I can't be friendly with them. If I was out of line I would definitely want y friend to put me back into place. My friendship with my best friend works because we have trust and we understand each other very well. The quote means that malice and bad thoughts always come back to hurt you. I have been jealous before and I can't really describe the feeling it just feels weird in your stomach. I think jealousy can be a healthy emotion because it can make you strive for more.

I do tend to do things that are healthy for me like workout and eat healthy food for my body. I do this because I only get one body so I care about it. The choices I make do reflect who I am as a person because the small choices I make are for that reason. I chose to stay out a conflict between two people. They had been disagreeing for a while ad wanted to fight and get it over with. So I let them deal with it themselves. There wasn't any repercussions except their beef had ended.

The quote is saying that when you are guilty, all you can think about is being guilty and you think that people are constantly talking about you. Amir is constantly worried that someone knows what he has done and thinking differently about him. I haven't done anything in my life that I can not forgive myself for thankfully.

Someone might choose not to reward a child when they are proud because they don't want it to go to their head.

Amir has not fully become a man that can't stand up for anything but he denied Rahim Kahn's wish to go get Sohrab, then he would have become one. Amir has never stood up for anything in his life and this was his last chance to change. He did not become a man that can't stand up for anything because in the end, he stood up for himself and Sohrab against Assef.

Amir has wanted to receieve some sort of punishment for standing and watching what happened to Hassan ever since it happened. He has felt guilty ever since and has never been at peace. It took Assef kicking Amir's ass to finally get what Amir felt he deserved. Hassan has taken so much pain for Amir and Amir has finally taken some for Hassan(well for his son but it's close enough). Amir has redeemed himself because he saved Sohrab's life and also atoned for his sins. 1) It is possible to atone for our wrongdoings because it helps understand the pain you caused and makes you feel sympathy towards them. It also helps the person you hurt forgive you because they know what you went through.

Love means caring for someone unconditionally and always wanting what's best for them even if they don't want what's best for them. Amir does not truly love Hassan because if he did, he would not have even thought of saying no to saving Sohrab. He would have done it without a thought because that is what love really is. Baba does truly love Amir because he makes tough decisions for Amir even if Amir doesn't like them because Baba knows it is best for him. Baba showed his love to Amir by finally having Soraya read his stories to him on his deathbed: "Just as I shut the door, I caught a glimpse of Soraya quickly sliding something under Baba's blanket"(Hosseini 172).
