Comments: I understood how important Jay D thought about the subject of suicide. Suicide is a big problem and what affected me the most was when he said 19 out of 20 people have a failed attempt of suicide the first time, but about 37% are successful the second time.

Questions: Why is suicide such a problem?! Why isn't there more talk about the prevention of suicide and depression anywhere?

Comment: I was very inspired by JD's story and very surprised at the end in which he explained that he was Jon. I would never want to go through a situation like JD went through. I have never had any thoughts of suicide, and very proud about that.

Question: Why did JD want to commit suicide after selling a penthouse in NYC? In my opinion, I would be great to have the new job opportunity and to sell the penthouse for some cash. (CASH IS KING!)

Question: Has he stared a program to reach out to people and prevent suicide? If so how is it and is it working well?

Comment: I was surprised when i heard him say he was JD. This video was touching and I am glad he survived to tell his story. Hopefully this video reaches many.

Comment: I was surprised when he said that 19/20 people that attempt suicide will fail. I also think that this must have been very hard for him to talk about, since he said this is his first time publicly speaking about his suicide attempt.

This short sy made me realize that people can bounce back and feel amazing about themselves and all it takes is a hand. A helping hand that could be anyone. We need more people that want to help others. With more people like that, we could prevent depression.

Question:

Why don't people help others who struggle? Everyone is the same and people aren't perfect. They need help.

Comments: Suicide is a problem that the world needs to focus on a lot. people die every 30 seconds from suicide and suicide isn't always the correct way to go. it breaks my heart that some teenagers,and adults take their lives because of something someone else said a perfect example would be bullying. there needs to be more suicide hotlines around for people in deep depression ready to just end their life and give it all up.

Comment: It takes a lot of courage to say that you were depressed, but to get up in front of a crowed and tell you story takes even more. I really liked how he revealed that he was John until he told the full story, that way people wouldn't automatically judge him for attmepting sucide.

Comments- Wow. What a hook to the story. I initially felt somewhat apathetic towards JD since I at first thought that he wasn't the suicide attempt survivor that he was talking about. When he revealed that it was him who jumped off the fence, I felt a great deal of respect towards him. I'm glad that he realized that he had a problem and got his life back.

Comment: 37 times more likely to succeed the 2nd time. I feel like we should prevent the first time, why doesn't society talk about these things? Why are their Stigmas? Because the world hasn't addressed the issue that's why.

That must have been a very hard state to be in. to have it going that good on the outside but in the inside would be a very tough decision for me whether to die or live, personally i would live and fix my problems.

Why did he try to kill himself? he could have been a money maker, and use that money for helping his mental state, what made him depressed?

Comment: In the United States, there are more suicides than murders. Jay encourages the sharing of suicide stories, and support for survivors. I never really thought about how the hush-hush aura of suicide attempts and survivors tales can have an impact on society's outlook, as well as future people's decision to try and kill themselves.

Question: Suicide isn't covered by some insurance agencies. Partially, because it's illegal in some countries. Should insurance companies cover suicide, and suicide attempts (with proven depression or other mental issue?)
