He made money and was going to get married but his “girlfriend” took all his money and ran away with someone else.  This unfortunately happened to him seven times.He was left debt and was being harassed by the people who he was in debt to. But an old man who was walking by took pity on him. The old man payed off Zenitsu’s debt and started training him to be a demon slayer. Zenitsu who was a coward often ran away but his sensei always caught him and brought him back. Although all the training Zenitsu indured he is only able to perform the 1st form of thunder breathing. We do know that every demon kokushibou faced was absorbed except him because kokushibou saw potential. His age is unknown ,but we do know that his real name is hakuji. He was turned into a demon at age 18 because Muzan was saddened that such a strong warrior had lost the will to fight. He lost the will to fight because before his wedding the well for the dojo had been poisoned. His fiancé and master died. The people who poisoned the well were a enemy dojo. When Hakuji(Akaza) found out who poisoned the well he went to them and killed the. Muzan changed his memories so that he would keep getting stronger. We know that Akaza recently killed the flame hashira Kyojuro Rengoku ,but other than him we don’t know how many hashira he has killed.
