Week in Newport Beach

Over the summer of 2017 my cousin Katherine invited me to come down to Newport Beach for the week. During this time, I was at a very low point of my life, having a desire to do nothing. Spending time with Katherine and just being a kid reminded me of how I want to spend the rest of my life: in happiness. The whole week was filled with endless excitement and spontaneous trips to the beach. This week forever made a huge impact for who I am today and how I look at life.

Coming to FSHA

As a freshman entering a new school knowing no one was something that I dreaded and couldn't stop thinking about. Currently I am about a month into school and I can't thank my parents enough for giving me the opportunity to switch schools. Coming to FSHA was a new beginning for me, a chance for me to reinvent myself and I am forever grateful for that opportunity. The way how I like to look at is is that FSHA is almost like my very own, personal Father Greg Boyle, a place of hope, compassion, and endless love.

Middle School

I think that it is safe to say that my middle school experience brought the worst out of me. It was a place of nothing but negativity and for the longest time I felt like I couldn't escape. I felt lonely and scared, which is why I feel so accepted and loved at FSHA. Middle school in general was such a dark time in my life, and I am so thankful to put all of those negative experiences in the past, and look forward to the future.

During this past summer, my whole family on my dads side decided to take a cruise from New York City to Bermuda for a week. This trip was by far the highlight of my summer. It was filled with endless laughter and so many memories that I will remember forever. The number one thing that I took out of this trip was how close all of my cousins and I got. This trip brought us all closer together and I am forever thankful for that.

Tennis Championships

Last year at my old school, out tennis team ranked number one heading into championships. We were all so excited and were all on a great winning streak. The day finally came and we were all so nervous stepping onto the court. We were playing Chaminade, who also were on a great winning streak. My doubles partner and I were battling every shot perfectly structured for the ball to be out of the opponents reach. It came down to a final score of 6-6, which meant we had to play a tie breaker. At this point all of our singles had won, but we were loosing with our doubles. This match would determine if we won or not. The score was 6-5 us, and I was serving. I toss the ball up high like my coach says and spin the ball so then it is out of the opponents reach. Ace. All I remember in that moment was a great sigh of relief that the match was over, and we had won! I will never forget that great moment of success!
