The Social Security Act is a law enacted by the 74th United States Congress and signed into law by U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1935. The law created the Social Security program as well as insurance against unemployment. The social security act affects me because its the money I will make when I'm older. it also affects me in the way that taxes are higher with it so they can pay retired people and disabled people who need it. so it affects me in the way it takes money from me now and pays me later.

Civilian Conservation Corps

The Civilian Conservation Corps was a voluntary government work relief program for unemployed, unmarried men ages 18–25 and eventually expanded to ages 17–28. n California, the work of the CCC can be found in State Parks. Public Works Administration

The Public Works Administration was a large-scale public works construction agency headed by Secretary of the Interior Harold L. Ickes. It was created by the National Industrial Recovery Act in 1933 in response to the Great Depression. The Public Works Administration affected California because it reduced unemployment by hiring the unemployed to build new public buildings, roads, bridges, and subways. The Civilian Conservation Corps employed hundreds of thousands of young men in reforestation and flood-control work.

The Tennessee Valley Authority was created on May 18, 1933 after president Rosevelt signed the Tennessee Valley Authority Act into law. This act was created with the intention of making a flood zone in the Tennessee region livable. This act changed the future of America as it paved the way for modernizing the south and building a sustainable environment. Furthermore it pioneered a new level of government intervention with economic affairs, setting the standard for today.

Agricultural Adjustment Act (1933)

The Agricultural Adjustment Act was signed into law on May 12, 1933 by president Franklin B. Rosevelt. The act was intended to help bring the cost of farmed goods back to a profitable price for farmers. A problem for farmers in America was that people weren't willing to pay much for their products. As a result farmers across the country increased their production to make up for their lost value. This soon backfired as the surplus in food made their product worth next to nothing. In order to do fix this the act gave money to farmers so they wouldn't need to produce as much goods to keep their farms afloat. Gradually the value of crops and other products would rise to match the amount of goods in circulation until they were profitable enough for farmers to survive without government hand outs.

National Relations Act (Wagner Act) 1935

The act was passed by congress in 1935 with the intention of protecting the rights of both employees and employers. It made the right for workers to unionize, which was already in the National Industrial Recovery act of 1933, protected by federal law. While signing the act into law on July 5th 1935 Rosevelt said that this act should, "serve as an important step toward the achievement of just and peaceful labor relations in industry." The president said this because in previous years disagreements between employees and employers led to violent protests and riots. This act was designed to solve this problem by giving employees to right to unionize.
