I will continue using and growing what I know about Smart/Promethean Boards to enhance my teaching skills. I will also stay updated with the latest software and apps that will help students engage with their coursework. In addition, I will utilize and understand the Benchmark Advance Literacy Program that MCPS has implemented. There is a digital format that the teachers and students will use if distance learning continues. Other academic websites to use in the classroom are Discovery Education, TED ed, National Geographic, Scholastic,  Symbaloo Edu, and Brain Pop.

All elementary schools will be using this program by 2021 and Stone Mill Elementary  School will be implementing it in Fall 2020.  This training will enhance my abilities to teach a successful reading block and teachers will feel comfortable leaving this in their substitute plans. It will enable me to give feedback to my peers and promote better student learning.  Peer observation and visiting classrooms also give me a new look at classroom management techniques and ways to change or enhance what I am already doing in the classroom.  I think all teachers should have the opportunity to visit other classrooms so it keeps them fresh and promotes new ideas.

Learning about their student's culture and their families is so crucial to forming a solid connection with the student. It is also important that teachers form a partnership with the parents and other family members at school. There must be mutual respect and trust between both parents, teachers, and students.
