Let me explain why since it's up for interpretation. How could Lydia be the one stating "Everything I Never Told You" when she is deceased. She wasn’t living for herself, she was living for everyone else. Although he isn't as valued as much as Lydia was by her parents, the readers are able to learn a lot about his character the more the story went on. Nath has his own journey that he wants to take on and deals with his parent's scrutiny towards his own journey.Especially towards the final chapter, the author only specifically mentions the weight Lydia's death will hold on him. The Lee’s were all hiding secrets but over all the secrets would only be kept because of the instability of the family. Her death was very abrupt and she left a lot of things unsaid because of it. She had yet to mend certain relationships, had yet to start as a new version of herself (the version she wanted to be), and she left so many questions unanswered to her loved ones. However, as much that I think the title is referencing Lydia, I also think it could reference each character at some point in the book. A big part of this story is that the characters have repressed feelings that are kept from everyone else. Hannah not speaking about the things she’s noticed about Lydia. The father having an affair. The mother having regrets about not continuing her education and instead getting married. Jack having feelings for Nath. At some point in the story, everyone could be the ‘I’ referenced in the title.
