The people of North and South America already had a well established culture, farming practices, and their own religion. The Aztecs specifically adapted well to their environment, by creating artificial land to farm. Their religion was a important part of their lives and they practiced human sacrifice. They also had a strong established government that invaded many territories, and helped to increase the population from 10 million to 15 million.

A generalization that could be made about the Aztecs was that they were a savage group without much civilization and I say this because of the sacrifices that they had done because of their religion. They had done thousands of sacrifices a year and some of the methods used for it were disturbing like taking out the heart and putting it to the sun or placing the heads out for the public to see.

Indigenous people of America were very in touch with nature and created murals out of respect for it. They were able to adapt well to their environment often due to weather conditions in the areas they lived in by creating unique farming and housing conditions. They signed treaties with many Natives to create non-hostile conditions. As for religion, they completed many sacrifices (both animal and human) in order to live longer and more prosperously.

Some generalizations about the Native Americans are that they adapted well to the environment, using agriculture and hunting. Sometimes they resorted to conflict between tribes and states when facing adversity but in the end peace and working together was the only way that they would persevere. The Native Americans also honored and respected art and religion, often tying it with the environment.

A few generalizations that can be made about the indigenous people of the Americas are that they are very in touch with there surroundings and they worship their land. This is shown through their artwork, materials, and how they treat the space and things around them. Another generalization that could be made is that they kill others for their benefit. Sometimes, they killed people and ate them and in some cultures, such as the Aztecs, they sacrificed people and offered them to the Gods so that they could show there appreciation. The Aztecs sacrificed many people.

The people of Mesa Verde were a product of the adaptations that were needed to survive in this time period. They relied on the land they lived on for everything and this is strongly shown through the murals that were made and left behind when Mesa Verde was abandoned. Every part of the murals including what was depicted in them represented their environment. They were very in touch with the land because of the lack of natural resources in this area. The reason for moving into this cliff side is still unknown today, but what we do know is what drove them out. It is said that a lack of resources and drought caused a lack of food which made it impossible to live there.

The people who lived at Mesa Verde which is present day Colorado. had to adapt to their environment by living in the cliff face. In the 1100s, many farmers and settlers began living near water sources and the Colorado river ran through this area. The Aztecs adapted by building Chinampas which are artificial islands on Lake Texcoco where they grew crops such as maize, beans, and squash. Cahokia experienced many natural and human weather based disasters affecting the land and farmland. After 1400, due to the disasters, they created a vacant quarter in between present day Ohio and the Mississippi river because of the land.

Life before the colonizers from Europe was good for the indigenous people they had formed their own government among themselves. They were originally hunter and gatherers and then found farming was a very effective way to live and they farmed a lot which had a big impact on the soil and ended up causing mudslides, floods, and crop destruction they had good farming technique and were very successful in this farming.

The natives adapt well to their environment, like when climate change made it harder for them to farm, they were able to hunt Bizon.

Aztecs-
The aztecs were known as very tough soldiers, they were pretty advanced with nature and planting food. They created enough resources to feed 180,000 people at the time which was a lot in essence. The sacrifices they tend to make were a little outrageous. Religion was a big deal and they felt that praying to the gods and making sacrifices played a role in how much produce would be produced. A lot of these sacrifices had to do with a lot of blood shed because they felt as if blood was the best sacrifice they could give to the gods. This actually really did nothing but cause a lot of brutal deaths and was very inhumane, but their beliefs were their beliefs.

A few generalizations can be made about the Aztecs. First of all, they were definitely barbaric in some ways. We can infer that that they had about 20,000 human scarifies per year. They would rip their hearts out and hold them up in the sun. The bodies would either be disposed of or put out on display. But they also were civilized in some ways. The methods they used for farming were very smart and very specific to the crops grown. The crops prospered which shows how civilized they can be. They also had very strong military and would tend to win most outbursts between tribes.

They highly respected nature and their respect for nature was emphasized in the murals and artworks they made. A good chunk of native american religion is based off of nature due to how closely they were connected to nature. The native Americans highly respected the environment that they used to survive which lead to it being reflected in their religion.

A few generalizations about Native Americans before Columbus that can be made is that they had a good sense of heart. This is true because they appreciated mother nature and didn't take the things around them for granted. So far as making murals out of respect. Also, being there for generations allowed them to adapt to the environment around them and know what foods to eat and not eat. Aztecs were a bit more cold hearted on the other hand. Even though they believed in God, in some kind of culture of theirs they would sacrifice a person that they killed and offer their body to the "Gods" to show their love and affection towards him. The people of america signed treaties with many Native American tribes in order to relieve stress and create a non-hostile environment.
