Hotel Review: The Middle House, Shanghai

A few months ago, I stayed at The Middle House, a modern hotel located in the centre of Shanghai. My experience there was wonderful, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the city.

The hotel is beautifully designed, combining modern style with a bit of traditional Chinese touches. My room was spacious and clean, with large windows that offered a great view of the city skyline. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom had everything I needed.

The staff were very polite and helpful. Whenever I needed information about places to visit, they were always ready to help.

One of the best things about the hotel was the restaurant. The food was delicious, and there were both Chinese and Western dishes available. The buffet was especially impressive, with a wide variety of fresh fruit, pastries, and hot food.

The hotel also had excellent facilities, including a swimming pool, gym, and spa. I spent an afternoon at the swimming pool, which was relaxing and peaceful.

Overall, The Middle House is a comfortable, and friendly hotel. It is not cheap, but I think it is worth the price for the quality and service you receive. I would highly recommend it to travellers who want to enjoy both luxury and convenience in the heart of Shanghai.

Universal Studios Japan

Last summer, I visited Universal Studios Japan in Osaka. I had expected it to be a fun and exciting place, but honestly, it was quite disappointing. When I first entered, I was amazed by the decorations and how real the movie scenes looked. However, the excitement didn’t last long.

There were too many people everywhere. Almost every ride had a very long queue, and sometimes I had to wait for more than an hour just to play once. By the time I finally got on the ride, I was already tired and not in the mood to enjoy it.

There were also many live shows and performances, but since all of them were in Japanese, I couldn’t understand what the actors were saying. If I had understood the language, maybe I would have liked them more. Instead, I just stood there feeling confused.

The food looked nice but was very expensive, and the seating areas were crowded too. I had to walk around for a long time to find a place to sit.

Overall, I think Universal Studios Japan looks amazing from the outside, but the experience was not as good as I expected. It was too crowded, too expensive, and quite tiring. If the park had fewer visitors and more English signs, it would be much more enjoyable. I would only give it 2.5 out of 5 stars.

My Review of Coco Park

During this weekend, I chose to go to Coco Park for dinner. It is located in the heart of Futian, which obviously means it will be quite crowded. If you plan to come during the weekend, I have to say that it is not particularly easy to park.

The facade of Coco Park from the outside looks pretty unremarkable, but the only eye-catching thing is a green light sign that reads "Coco Park," so I would say it is not that distinctive. But when I came in, a fragrant smell wafted to my nose, and everything was fresh and clean. There are a wide range of stores: trendy toys, electronic products, clothes... Especially, there is a broad spectrum of restaurants covering all prices and types. The outdoor area is incredible—there are sometimes small stands selling little things like tanghulu, and I even saw a divination stall which is kind of interesting to look around. The night view outside is delightful, the green plants by the railing are very beautiful, and even just walking around is relaxing.

However, as I mentioned, it is super crowded, which means you have to wait for everything—toilets, parking, restaurants, and even paying the bill. I somehow got frustrated with that. But the staff were attentive; I asked a few times about where things are, and they politely showed me the way.

Overall, my experience at Coco Park was super positive. It is very pleasant to visit, the food is nice, the decorations are striking, and the view is soothing. Although it was a good experience, you still need to consider the crowdedness on weekends. But if you choose to go on a workday, it will probably be fine for you. I would rank it 4 out of 5 stars.

My review of Raffle city

My family decided to go to Raffle City this weekend. We were totally impressed by the collection of brands and their design. It is located in the heart of Shenzhen. The experience was memorable.

The layout was intuitive. Unlike malls where you get lost looping around, Raffles City has an almost “O-shaped” flow—every floor had clear signs, and I never backtracked to find a store. The spaces felt bright, with big windows letting in natural light, and even when it got busier around lunchtime, it never felt cramped.

There is a range of stores that provide different services. For example, for service， they have a photo studio, Zhuanzhuan, etc. And for sport, they have a swimming pool, a gym, and a dance studio. For kids, they have LEGO and an indoor amusement park. The foods there are the highlight; B1 and B2 are full of casual eats. We had Song hotpot for lunch, and the service and food were amazing.

However, no place is perfect, though. By 2 PM, the parking lot was full, and we had no place to park. We waited for 20 minutes for a place to park. So, if you have a car, I don't recommend that you come. Also, the kids’ play area on L3 was really noisy, I don't recommend you to come if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place.

In conclusion, Shenzhen Raffles City is the kind of mall you’ll visit again and again, not because it’s trendy, but because it works. It’s convenient, has something for everyone. I would give it a 4/5.

Happy Valley review

Last year, I visited Happy Valley, a theme park, with my friends. It was an outstanding experience. The rides, atmosphere, and service were all excellent.

The theme park is pretty easy to find, thanks to its huge, shiny sign. Every ride has a vibrant, energetic look, with colorful murals and themed landmarks around every turn. We tried the giant roller coaster, the water raft ride, and the haunted house. Everything was thrilling, well-maintained, and stunning.

The food service staff were cheerful and quick to help. We loved their attitude at first, but the food itself was disappointing. Even though the hamburger looked delicious, it tasted like rubber. That said, it’s fast food, so it makes sense. The ticket prices are also reasonable for the endless fun you get.

Overall, everything is fantastic except for the food. If you want a thrilling day filled with laughter and screams (and don’t really mind about the food), this is the place to go. I’d give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Hotel Review- Westin London

I went to London two years ago and had a wonderful, memorable and satisfying experience at the Westin London City Hotel. Now I can still remember how this modern hotel located in the heart of the city made my trip truly unforgettable!

The interior of the hotel was in an iconic and elegant style, giving me an upscale vibe. As I walked in the hotel, the staff were polite and helped me with my luggage as soon as I arrived. There was a blue and white light hanging from the ceiling in the lobby, which was a graceful and luxurious place to have a rest after experiencing an exhausting flight. The furniture inside the hotel was refined, especially the sofas. They had a smooth texture and matched the overall style of the décor, which made me have a wonderful first impression. The soft lighting provided a welcoming vibe that created a striking contrast to the bustling streets of London.

Even though I felt annoyed and frustrated after waiting for a long time during the check-in process, my impatience turned into satisfaction as soon as I went into the room. The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully designed with a modern yet warm aesthetic. The large windows offered me a stunning view of the city, reminding me of the perfect central location close to the St. Paul’s Cathedral.

After a relaxing and restful night, the famous breakfast attracted me to go to the dining area. A wide range of choices including classic British style and modern international dishes caught my eye immediately. The scrambled eggs were the one thing that really exceeded my expectations. The fresh and high-quality ingredients, combined with the chef's skill, resulted in a fantastic meal. What made it different from other hotels was that you could customize your own eggs by choosing different toppings and asking the chef to personalise the duration and degree of heating.

In conclusion, The Westin London is more than just a place to sleep; it is an integral part of a successful London trip. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to any traveller seeking a sophisticated and wellness-focused retreat.

The Atlantis Hotel in Sanya

Last summer, my family and I wanted a beach getaway, so we decided to try the Atlantis in Sanya, right by Yalong Bay. It’s nestled near the beach and close to a lively market with all sorts of tropical fruits. I was curious to see if this hotel could make our vacation unforgettable...

When you step into the Hyatt, you’re greeted by a lobby full of lush plants and a huge aquarium with colorful fish. The building has a modern design—there’s a sleek pool area with turquoise water and comfy lounge chairs. My room had a big bed with soft pillows, a desk where I could write postcards, and a balcony with a view of the garden. Every corner felt both fancy and welcoming, like a luxury beach home.

The Atlantis had some great moments, but a few letdowns too. The staff were amazing—when I asked about local beaches, they gave me a detailed map with secret spots. The hotel’s beach bar made the best mango smoothies, and I spent hours there reading books. But once, the elevator took forever to arrive, and one evening, the Wi-Fi in my room kept cutting out while I was video calling my friend. Also, the breakfast buffet, though tasty, had a long line every morning. Still, these didn’t ruin the overall fun.

Overall, this hotel is worth a visit if you’re heading to Sanya, but it needs to fix some things first. If you want a smooth stay, ask for a room near the elevator and check the Wi-Fi before settling in. And if you’re hungry, try the seafood restaurant down the street—it’s way better than the hotel’s diner. The overall price is a bit expensive but it worth it!! I’ll give this hotel 4 star rating!

Universal Studios Japan Review

Last year, my family went to Osaka for vacation, and we decided to visit Universal Studios Japan. It is located in the Konohana-ku district, on the western side of Osaka City near Osaka Bay.

Before entering the park, we had to book our tickets in advance. We bought the regular admission tickets. If it’s your birthday, you can tell the staff, and they will give you a special birthday sticker. Whenever a staff member sees you, they will wish you a happy birthday, which is a nice touch.

The first attraction we tried was the Harry Potter indoor roller coaster. It was really fun, and the scenery inside the Hogwarts area was amazing. However, we had to wait in line for about an hour before getting on the ride.

Next, we went to the Jaws attraction, where we rode a boat that gets “attacked” by a mechanical great white shark. The staff even used a fake gun to “defeat” the shark, which made it exciting and entertaining. But again, the waiting time was quite long.

We also tried the Minions ride, which was a bit dizzying but very fun and colorful. The waiting line was long here too, but it was worth it.

After that, we watched the Detective Conan live performance. It was very well done and recreated the scenes from the show impressively. Luckily, we didn’t have to wait too long for this one.

Finally, we rode the Demon Slayer VR indoor roller coaster, which was extremely thrilling. The visuals were stunning and recreated scenes from the anime perfectly. You could even see detailed designs on the characters’ clothes that you are in, showing how much effort went into the experience.

Overall, the experience was fantastic. The only downside was the long waiting times, which made the day quite exhausting. The Express Passes can help shorten the lines, but they are quite expensive. Still, the service was excellent, and all the attractions were very entertaining. I will give a 4.5 out of 5 for events and a 5 out of 5 for service.

Wanda Plaza in Jiangmen is in the heart of the city. Families, students, and tourists love to visit there since it’s in a convenient location, and have a wide variety of stores.

The mall is large and easy to walk around, with clear directions and wide walkways. Inside, there are clothing stores, accessory shops, and MINISO, a famous Chinese brand that sells lots of things that you can buy such as makeup, plushies, blind boxes and things that you might need if there’s an emergency.

There are a lot of restaurants The service in most shops and restaurants are friendly. Also, there is an indoor zoo with animals such as rabbits, goats, horses, snakes and raccoons, I really enjoyed my time there, plus, the prices are reasonable and affordable if you would like to feed them or buy a ticket. Compared to older malls, Wanda Plaza feels more organised and trendy mall in Jiangmen. It is a place where visitors can easily spend a whole afternoon without getting bored.

Overall, I would recommend Wanda Plaza to anyone who would love a convenient shopping experience. It’s a great place for meeting friends, eating out, watching movies, or buying daily necessities. Families with children will also enjoy the entertainment areas. To improve the experience even more, the mall could add more seating areas for resting and introduce more unique or international shops. However, it already offers great variety and is definitely worth visiting.

Hotel review- The Venetian Macao

Last summer, my family and I went to Macao and live in the Venetian Macao for a week. The Venetian Macao is more than a hotel—it’s an immersive resort blending Venetian charm with top-tier comfort, making it a standout for Macao travelers. With seamless amenities, great service, and a prime spot, it delivers a memorable stay that outweighs minor flaws.

Centered on the Cotai Strip, its location is unbeatable: steps from The Parisian and The Londoner, forming a walkable resort hub. Complimentary shuttles connect to airports, ferry terminals, and the Zhuhai border, while key attractions like Cotai Central Mall and cultural sites are easily accessible via taxis or shuttle links.

Services are attentive and professional, the staff elevates the stay. Bellhops assist promptly with luggage, front desk teams are knowledgeable (even during peak crowds) and accommodate requests like late check-out. Housekeeping keeps rooms spotless with quality toiletries, and resort-wide staff—from restaurant hosts to gondola attendants—offer helpful tips and quick support.

Dining spans global flavors, with 30+ options for every budget. Enjoy authentic Cantonese dim sum at Dynasty 8, fresh sushi at Sake Bar Ginn, or classic Italian at Bice Ristorante. Food courts serve quick bites (noodles, curries, burgers) for on-the-go, while generous portions and elegant decor (some with canal views) make meals memorable—no overspending needed for quality.

The Venetian is a top pick for luxury and convenience. Iconic indoor canals with gondola rides, spacious rooms, and all-in-one amenities (shopping, dining, entertainment) turn it into a destination itself. Minor downsides: crowded lobbies/elevators during peaks and slightly dated fixtures in some rooms. But these are negligible—this resort delivers hassle-free indulgence for solo, couple, or family trips. Highly recommended for an unforgettable Macao stay, I will give it a 5 out of 5 stars.

Last week, I finally had a short break from schoolwork, so my family decided to spend the weekend in Guangzhou. Instead of staying at home, we wanted to relax and explore the city. So, we booked a room in Four Seasons Hotel, which is located at the center of Guangzhou. I had heard many great things about this hotel, but instead of just reading reviews online, I wanted to experience it myself.

As soon as we arrived, the bright hotel sign stood out against the skyline, and the entrance looked modern, clean, and welcoming. When we walked in, the lobby was full of people checking in, chatting, and taking photos. Even though it was crowded, the atmosphere felt lively rather than stressful. The staff greeted us politely and helped us check in quickly.

The room was spacious and had a beautiful view of the city. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was spotless, and every corner felt well designed. Housekeeping kept everything tidy, and the free bottled water and snacks were a nice surprise. The hotel also had a buffet breakfast with both Chinese and Western choices. The noodles and fresh fruit were especially good.

The only downside was that the swimming pool was a bit crowded in the evening. However, this was a small problem compared to the overall experience.

In conclusion, the hotel provided friendly service, clean rooms, and a great location. If you are visiting Guangzhou and want a relaxing stay, I would definitely recommend this hotel. I would rate it 9 out of 10.

During the weekend we went to the YH supermarket at Shenzhen Nanshan. The supermarket is located in the basement of a mall.

When we enter the supermarket there is a place to store your pet during your shopping, however we do not have pets so we haven’t tried them out.

At the entry of the supermarket their is a place stand were you can get a shopping cart. If you don’t need one there is basket with wheels, so you can drag them around.

In the supermarket their are cooked food and nuts, they are cooked and sold on the day. So it is fresh.

The supermarket has a simple decor and it is well cleaned. As for the price it is around average supermarket price of Shenzhen.

We bought some ham and nuts and flavorings. As you exist the supermarket there is area for dinning and microwave. It is very good but I only have a short time there, I will consider it as a place to go shopping regularly. 5 out of 5

My review of ibis Cambridge Central Station Hotel

Last year, when I was studying in the UK, I stayed at the ibis Cambridge Central Station Hotel for two nights before the start of the school term, conveniently located right next to the train station. My stay was pleasant overall, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and convenience at a reasonable price.

The hotel is modern and clean, with a simple yet stylish design. My room was compact but well-organized, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. Although the space wasn’t very large, it had everything I needed, including a desk, TV, and free Wi-Fi. The bathroom was spotless and had a good shower.

One of the best things about this hotel is its location. It’s only a few steps from Cambridge Railway Station, making it perfect for travellers arriving by train. There are also plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby such as Wasabi, and Greggs, there are also a Sainsbury's beside the hotel. More convenience is that it only takes about 10–15 minutes to walk into the city centre.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Check-in was quick and easy, and when I asked for extra towels, they were delivered to my room right away. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight — it offered a wide range of food, from fresh fruit and pastries to eggs and bacon.

However, the hotel does have a few downsides. The rooms are quite small, and there’s no fridge, which might be inconvenient for longer stays.

Overall, I think the ibis Cambridge Central Station is a great choice for short stays or business trips. It’s clean, efficient, and perfectly located. I would rate it 4 out of 5 stars.

Shenzhen happy valley

During the holidays , I spent a whole day at Shenzhen Happy Valley, and it was such a great experience! I went with my friends, and we came earlier because we don’t want to be in a crowded area, but the park was already busy with families and other tourists.

First, we headed to the thrilling rides, and “Snow Eagle” was the first one we tried. It was so exciting! The ride shot forward super fast in just 2 seconds, and when it went down the big drop, I screamed so loud and felt like my soul was chasing after me, but laughed right after. Later, we tried “Golden Wave,” a water roller coaster. Getting a little wet from the splashes made the hot day feel cooler, which was nice. For my friend who doesn’t like super scary rides, we went to “Magic Castle” area. There were gentle rides like small trains which is perfect for kids and people who want a more relaxed time.

Of course, there were a few small bad parts. The popular rides had long queues, we waited almost an hour for “Snow Eagle.” Also, the food inside is a bit expensive, a bottle of water cost 5 yuan, and a simple burger set was 40 yuan!

Overall, it was an awesome day. I had so much fun with my friends, tried exciting rides, and saw cool shows. Even the long lines and pricey food didn’t ruin the fun. I’d definitely recommend Shenzhen Happy Valley to anyone who loves theme parks

A short Review of The Aethelstan Hotel

My stay at The Aethelstan Hotel was largely positive, blending classic elegance with modern comfort. The grand lobby and friendly staff created a welcoming first impression. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and featured an incredibly comfortable king-sized bed. The marble bathroom was a highlight, with a powerful shower and quality toiletries.

However, the experience had minor flaws. The famous rooftop pool, while beautiful, was often crowded and noisy, making it difficult to relax. Service in the hotel restaurant was also inconsistent; although the breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of fresh options, the dinner service was slow and my main course was unfortunately overcooked.

Despite these issues, the hotel's strengths are significant. Its central location is perfect for exploring the city, and the core comfort it provides is undeniable. I would recommend The Aethelstan for its elegance and amenities, but with a note that the service and popular facilities can sometimes disappoint.
