I remember the last time my family met for the Lunar New Year, I ate a very unique dish lovingly cooked by my grandmother. It was salted vegetable duck soup which had been boiled for many hours. We were all gathered round the dinner table savouring the wonderful soup which was sweet, salty, and sour all at the same time. My grandmother shared that the recipe for the dish was almost lost during the war. Thankfully, it survived and continues to be passed down through the generations.

I used to always go to this shop called biryani house. They sold many kinds of food and their most famous is the prata (I think). Now, you might be wondering how this was memorable to me. During that time, my parents were still picking me up and we would always go to this shop. I had a lot of memories and we also became pretty close to the manager.

I remember when I went to my cousins mother their house to celebrate Hari Raya ,I ate a dish that was cook by my cousin mother .It was mutton curry with rice that was coloured orange ,yellow and a bit of white.I was with my parents and the food was spicy, salty.

I remember the time when I went with my family to Kopitiam Hawker Centre next to Compass One Mall. The food I especially love there is Japanese, Tenpayaki and Pontian food. They are very delicious and tasty to eat.

I remember once during Chinese new year I went to China and visit my great grandmother to celebrate Chinese new year. She cook tofu that she said she cook to my grandmother when she was young. I ate it and it was delicious but I don’t know what is the ingredient to cook the tofu . Until now I still remember the taste

I remember when I went into a new restaurant called Collins with my family because it was their anniversary. The dishes there are cooked to delight. The dishes had all kinds of flavours, sweet, salty, spicy and sour. Even the ambience was nice and relaxing. I recommend going there with your family.

I remember when I went to Putra Minang restaurant to have a meal with my family members. I ate at an Indonesian cuisine restaurant. This particular experience was very memorable because we were able to catch up and talk about our daily lives. We don’t usually get to meet each other that often as we are usually busy with our work/school life. We had a great talk about what has been happening in our lives, what did we achieve recently and what progress we have made in our life. Coming from a Malay family, this food is similar to Malay cuisine, but it tasted better. It was very delicious. The rendang we ate was soft and packed with flavours. The rendang had a combination of spicy and sweet. Nonetheless, I will never forget about this experience.

i remember when I went to the UK with my aunt’s family to visit my cousins, I tried handmade pizza for the first time. The pizza was scrumptious, it tasted salty and cheesy. I enjoyed it so much that I ate it for an entire week but got tired of it and I couldn’t eat pizza for a whole year. But overall, I enjoyed the experience.

I went to my aunt’s house for Hari Raya Puasa Celebration. There she had made Pineapple Tarts and Chocolate cookies but the most meaningful part was when she asked me to help her make the second batch of desserts. It was fun learning how to make pineapple tarts and Chocolate cookies . It truly was memorable day and I would never forget that day. Especially, now that she has passed away. I make it with my family every year in the memory of her.

I remembered when I was at my old grandparents house, for Chinese New Year. My grandma and mom made Pho (beef noodle soup in Vietnam), I was with all my relative and cousins. The flavours of the Pho was salty, beefy and spicy all at the same time. It was memorable since it was my first time at Vietnam and first time trying this special dish. This recipe has been going on since my great great grand mother, which was very long time ago.

During lunar new year's eve, I went to a restaurant to have reunion dinner with my grandparents. We had chilli crab, lobster, broccoli with scallop, sweet and sour pork. Unfortunately, I only could eat sweet and sour pork with broccoli because I can't eat seafood 😞😞

I remember me and my family went to Changi beach to eat the Nasi lemak. We normally go there on weekends but since now both my parents started working so we don't go there anymore. The last time we went there was when I was in primary 5. We woke up early in the morning at 6 and took the first bus to Changi beach. The bus was very cold. After about 2 hours, we arrived there. We were going to have our breakfast there. We had to wait for a very long time because the queue was very long. After a while we finally got our food. We packed it and went down to the beach. We lay down a mat then sit down on mat and ate the food. I was really hungry that time so the Nasi lemak tasted very good. I loved the chicken because it was tender and juicy. I liked the chili sauce because it was sweet and spicy. Anyway, I had a very memorable eating experience and it was very fun playing in the sand. I hope one day when my parents don't have work, we all can go there together again.

I remember when me and my family went to my grandmother house for hari Raya to eat delicious cuisines like rendang,ketupat,ayam masak merah and many more and it was memorable for me because it is considered that it was my last hari raya with my grandmother as the next year she had passed away and after that nobody knows how to cook the traditional festive food and only how to cook basic ones like rendang and ketupat only

I remember when I went to Malaysia to visit my grandmother and cousins to celebrate Chinese new year, we would always eat hotpot. She would prepare fish balls, noodles, blood sausage and many more ingredients.

The hotpot was spicy, salty and sour.

It was a very memorable experience, because I was with my 8 cousins and all of my other aunties and uncle. After dinner we would put fireworks, and play with these fire pop things(we throw them on the floor and it would pop)

I really had a lot of fun together with them

Now I can't visit them because they were my fathers side and I have some family problems so I couldn't go visit them.

I remember when I wanted to go to a Japanese place in NEX but the queue was always very long. So when it was my birthday, my parents finally took me there. It was actually a fusion place of japanese and western. I had a japanese beef burger with fries and the bun was western style butter bread. I remember once during Christmas, my family and I went to visit my grandparents in Malaysia. When we reached to their house, I could smell the mouth watering mutton curry that my grandfather cooked. I once went to a restaurant on my birthday a few years back. It was my 1st time going there so I was excited to see the menu. I had ordered a Cheese-Naan Bomb. Naan is something like prata. It was shaped like a mini bomb and was LOADED with cheese. It was cheezy, salty, slightly sweet and spicy. I was there with my best friend and we had so much fun, trying to imitate the food vlogers on YouTube.
