We have been busy doing all kinds of winter fun things! We have visited Kozier’s Christmas village, picked and trimmed our tree, and have done some test runs of cookie baking before cookie-palooza commences. We have done neighbor gingerbread house decorating and painted nutcrackers. We will host our family for Christmas Eve and morning and then gear up to light the menorah for Hanukkah! We love all the winter cozy fun things this time of year!

Pictured are my children. One of our family traditions is to get family pictures yearly and cut down our our Christmas tree at a farm.. We also spend time with extended family on both sides of the family.

We have lots of traditions in the Wertz household! We've seen Santa once so far, a few more outings planned. The weekend before Christmas will be baking cookies to include on Jackson's tray for Santa. My new nightly tradition is removing Storm, our year-old black cat, from the Christmas tree. My favorite tradition we have as a family is getting together with extended family on Christmas Eve and playing Christmas-themed Minute to Win It Games!

We have started a tradition in my house to do all home/handmade Christmas gifts... so I have become Crochet Santa! Everyone, family and friends, will be receiving crochet gifts from me as well as cards designed by yours truly. It puts so much more meaning into the holidays when each gift has been made with love and care!

This holiday season has been filled with a little bit of everything from family time to hospital stays. We kicked the holiday season off with Pizza and Wings on the Yoder while we decorated the tree - Tillie played along and let Max decorate her with lights and even willingly wore the Santa hat. We got to celebrate as a family at the EAWCP Christmas Party, a yearly tradition. The boys got to visit the big man while we were there. Max and Tillie made the best out of a hospital stay - those pesky seizures - while Matthew got to spend the week out of town with dad as an intern for Michel's Power. We have baked and made pierogi (only 42 dozen this year though). We plan to add to the cookies this coming weekend though! We have had baseball sprinkled in 3 times a week, but that is more like a year round tradition at this point! Oh, and of course, we can't forget those crazy elves....they got themselves their own Yoder and have been making pizzas. HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON from the Wydra Family!
