• Meaning: Ihsan can be translated as "excellence" or "perfection." It represents the highest level of faith and spirituality in Islam.
• Concept: Ihsan is often associated with the famous Hadith of Gabriel, where the Angel Gabriel asks the Prophet Muhammad about Islam, Iman, and Ihsan. Ihsan is described as "worshiping Allah as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, knowing that He sees you."
• Focus: Ihsan is about achieving a state of spiritual excellence and devotion to Allah. It involves a profound awareness of Allah's presence in all aspects of life and the sincere intention to worship and serve Him with excellence and devotion.

1) **Prayer:** According to Surah Al Ankabut verse 45, prayer serves as a deterrent against committing heinous and evil deeds. Fahsha' refers to physical abominations like adultery and drinking alcohol, while Mungkar encompasses inner evils such as denial of faith. Prayers prevent such acts through sincere devotion and concentration on God, fostering a pure heart, strong faith, and a desire to do good. Scholars emphasize three key elements in prayer's ability to prevent wrongdoing: sincerity, fear coupled with the glorification of God's greatness, and continuous remembrance of Allah even outside of prayer.

In Surah Al-Baqarah verse 183, Allah mandates fasting and rewards believers with piety. Taqwa, or God-consciousness, entails fearing Allah and obeying His commands. Fasting instills taqwa by training individuals to resist sinful temptations and strive to prevent wrongdoing. It serves as a practice of obedience to God, motivated by the expectation of divine reward and a fear of punishment. Those who fast learn to refrain from immoral acts despite their inclinations, as they are mindful that Allah sees all. Success in resisting sin indicates a high level of piety. Fasting also fosters increased obedience to Allah, as devout individuals find joy in worship. Additionally, it prompts remembrance of the less fortunate and encourages repentance, both integral aspects of taqwa.

Following Allah and the Messenger leads to receiving divine mercy (Al Imran: 132).

Prayer encourages introspection and improvement, fostering mindfulness and self-awareness.

5) Attainment of purity (iffah):

Prayer instills discipline, helping to avoid immoral behavior and vices.

6) Humility (tawadhu'):

Submission to God cultivates humility and good character, with a focus on obedience and piety.

In a Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) advised that those who refrain from forbidden sights during prayer will find sweetness in worship.

In Surah At-Tawbah verse 103, Zakat is highlighted as a means of cleansing and purifying oneself. This purification extends to cleansing from sins, overcoming the traits of stinginess and excess, and sanctifying both our own property and that of others. By fulfilling the obligation of Zakat, blessings and additions are bestowed upon our wealth, as Allah fulfills His promise. Moreover, practicing Zakat leads to goodness in the hereafter, ensuring spiritual rewards and blessings.

Surah Al-Baqarah verse 197 advises pilgrims to be mindful of behaviors that could diminish the reward of Hajj. These include refraining from immoral speech related to lust, avoiding sinful actions, and abstaining from arguments and trivial disputes. Pilgrims can achieve this by recognizing the inherent benefit of Hajj itself, which encourages them to steer clear of sinful behaviors. The experience of Hajj serves as an education, teaching pilgrims to remain steadfast and upright even after completing the pilgrimage. Maintaining consistency in righteousness and avoiding temptation are essential aspects of achieving a Hajj Mabrur, a pilgrimage accepted by Allah. This journey also serves as an opportunity for spiritual growth, educating individuals about controlling their desires. Ultimately, one of the indicators of a successful Hajj is the ability to maintain steadfastness in faith and conduct even after returning from the pilgrimage.
