I think that extracurriculars are good but with all things, there is such a thing as too much or too many. They provide kids with new skills and new experiences, which can sometimes be overwhelming. I think kids should be allowed to take breaks from let's say sports or clubs because sometimes balancing school, extracurriculars, social life, and work can be challenging. Extracurricular activities are good in moderation but once they begin to impact a child's mental health, a child should take a step back. I could see both sides and see why it could have negative effects and positive ones.

Yes I agree with this statement and how important extracurricular outside of school is because as we know it said that it can be positive which the kids can enjoy but also negative because they have to balance others things such as school which is challenging for them. It can impact by build their mental health and have a good participate for them to experience.

I dont agree nor disagree with the statement being shared. I think that extracurricular activities can be beneficial to make new friends and branch out to other sources of fun and interactions rather than just being stuck inside the same 4 walls with the same people. It also can help with time management skills as well as communication skills. I do also believe that extracurricular activities can cause stress on many students, causing them to do bad in school or be tired during class time. It can draw their focus onto something other than school, resulting in negative feedback with their grades. Overall, I dont think extracurricular create big issues in ones life or behavior but if a student is in them they should be cautious of the negatives that follow them.

With a lot of things, It's difficult to generalize people who only have one thing in common. Generalizing all students who have extracurriculars as delinquents wouldn't do justice to the overwhelming majority that take extracurriculars in order to build friendships, have a sense of community, and for college applications. Most honors students have extracurriculars and are able to maintain very high gpa's. For sports, you must maintain a certain grade in all of your classes in order to continue playing in that sport. Extracurricular can be beneficial to some and harmful to others. Some extracuirculars, or taking on an overwhelming amount, can cause burnout in some students or prevent them from connecting with family or even getting homework done. Too many can cause feelings of anxiety and stress and lead to a decline in grades. It's important to maintain good time management and know yourself and what you are able to handle. Because of so many factors that go into what a person can handle, I'd say that the statement that it's "impossible to generally state that extracurricular activities are beneficial" can hold true in a lot of scenerios.

Extracurricular activities can really boost students' mental health and behavior. When students get involved in things like sports, clubs, or community service, they get to make new friends, build confidence, and relieve stress. These activities give them a sense of belonging and purpose, which is super important for feeling good mentally. Juggling school and extracurriculars helps them learn to manage their time better and staying organized. Yes it can become stressful but it’s all about finding a good balance between work.

I think extracurriculars outside of school are extremely important for students to participate in. Although studies do suggest negative results, I have personally seen it give many students a reason to show up to school and get good grades. Many sports and clubs require students to have at least passing grades to participate becoming a strong motivator to show up to class. Students who would otherwise skip school or just completely write off school all together now have a purpose to try in school.

I believe that extracurricular activities are important for a student at all ages. At a young age it teaches cooperation and sportsmanship, as well as interpersonal skills. As a student gets older it can provide an outlet and a source of socialization outside of school and can fulfill a student. I think the most important thing, however, is to not overwhelm a student. Over-involvement can have consequences on a student's social, academic, and mental performance. I think in moderation extracurriculars are beneficial.

I can see both sides of the spectrum being present in students' lives, especially high-achievers. Extracurriculars may serve as a hobby or even sports that allow students to make connections and exercise, promoting a healthy lifestyle, as long as there is a balance. High-achieving students often find themselves participating in lots of extracurricular activities that they lose time for classwork, sleep, and other activities, which can take a toll on their mental health.
