Lely Astronaut was created to help dairy farmers. For a lot of dairy farms, it's hard to find employees because of the hard work and long hours. The RMS can help farms continue to milk, and make more money in doing so. The technology embedded in the A5 has made it much easier to be a dairy farmer. The A5 has the technology to know specific information about the cow entering the machine based off of a number the cows wear on a collar. For example, if a cow lacks milk in a quarter of it's udder, the robot will milk that quarter less than the rest of the udder. Cows are not all made the same, and this RMS is built with more flexibility to ensure more of the farmers herd is being milked. The machines information on the herd can also be reached by your smartphone. The Lely Astronaut A5 has opened a new door of technology for dairy farmers, and has proved to be one of the most important innovations in agriculture to date.
