I feel that there was a mix of emotions from everyone. Some people acted like it was the end of the world and everyone should make emergency bunkers. However, other people thought it was going to burn out and continued with their spring break. A lot of businesses have closed temporarily in my neighborhood such as one of my favorite restaurants Zona Fresca. But, a lot of restaurants and business do pickup and curb side delivery. Also, staying inside all day becomes very boring. It seems like a general crumby feeling like when you have a slight cold. Also, there is a very busy street a block away from my house and it’s very dangerous to walk or skateboard along. Now, the street is barren, every 5 or so minutes one car passes by. Some I miss doing is every once or twice a week I would get to go to Starbucks on the way back from school, so it sucks not being able to have it. So that dumb. But, when they announced the states were opening meant they were reopening restaurants, so we still can’t go outside. Also, the busy but barren street I mentioned in the last journal is slightly more active. I was skateboarding along it today and I had to keep switching lanes to not become roadcakes. Also, I skateboarded over to a park near my house which before was completely shut down. Now, when I went there, people were playing tennis together, the tennis center was open, and it was overall normal, which was strange. Also, today was the day when classes got extended which really doesn’t help how bad quarantine is. This makes the day is you don’t have a 9th period go from ending at 1:30 to 2:25. Today I saw that the office will be removed off Netflix in 2021 which is just life ending because I watch about 2-4 hours of the office daily. So when that happened that’s probably when I’m going to revolt. So if you or all the millions of people reading this journal didn’t realize, I do something called wood turning. Wood turning is a piece of wood spinning really fast on something called a lathe. You put a tool to it and it chips away wood into the shape you want. I usually make bowls, as shown in one of the pictures. But once I buy a bigger lathe I knew I could start making bigger things like vases and stuff like that. But I had an idea, I can make urns, not for anyone in particular, but if someone wants one. Also, I saw a video explaining that every pound a person weighs is one square inch of space needed for the urn. So that’s a cool distraction. I saw on the news that the amount of cases in New York stopped rising. The shelter-at-home order that came into effect as a result of the novel Coronavirus has provided me with time to be introspective and cook healthy meals, and much more time to spend with my family than I am usually afforded. I also get more sleep at night. 

2. Has your school/work changed and do you like it?

I am a physician so I still need to go to work but not as often because elective procedures for kids have been on hold. I miss taking care of kids but I like having more time to myself.
