Magnavox Odyssey/1972

Em 1972 nasceu o primeiro console de videogame lançado na história, batizado de Magnavox Odyssey.
A ideia surgiu com Ralph Baer em 1966, com o intuito de criar algo que pudesse interagir com uma TV.

O primeiro protótipo foi criado em 1968 e batizado como Brown Box (Caixa Marrom). Não durou muito para Baer vender o projeto para a Magnavox, subsidiária da Philips. Apesar de não deixar qualquer tamanho de tela de televisão, ter apenas 29 jogos e não reproduzir filhos, o videogame rendeu um sucesso relativo para a época, e vendeu 100 mil unidades. Custava cerca de 100 dólares, o que equivale a 550 dólares ou 2200 reais em valores atuais.

Dada a simplicidade dos existentes, os jogos não têm núcleos e ambientes complexos. Além disso, jogador necessário colocar um filtro plástico, vendido com os cartões de jogo, na frente da tela da TV para dar a ilusão de linhas, cenários, núcleos e contornos durante o gameplay.

Atari was released in 1977 and carries curious stories behind it. In 1970, Nollan Bushnel repaired arcades in Utah, a college town. After quitting his job, he pitched his idea to a former colleague, Ted Dabney, to create a new arcade.

It wasn't until 1972 that friends named the console Atari, after a construction company “stole” the name of the old Syzygy console. That year, Pong was released, one of the main arcade games.

Atari took shape over time, but it still wasn't enough, as friends wanted to play the arcade at home. In 1976 the first home video game prototype was released.

With an innovative video game for the time, Nollan could release any game for Atari consoles. Based on this idea, Nolan and Tedy asked a boy named Steve Jobs for help in setting up the Breakout, one of Atari's biggest hits.

Atari's “end of beginning” happened in 1976 as well. Steve Jobs left to found Apple, Nollan Bushnell needed money to invest in the game, so he sold it to Warner. Henceforth were born Pac-Man and Donk Kong, computers and other technological revolutions from the second part of Atari.

The console was very successful in creating a control with gauntlets, but mainly because it features new colors, graphics and sounds.

Who doesn't remember Sonic? The game conceived by Sega was the main competitor of Super Mario Bros., the hero of Nintendo consoles in the 90s.

In the 90's it was a great success and even today it is possible to find islands in good conditions of conservation. Like the Nintendo 64, the Mega Drive lost popularity after Sony's arrival with the Playstation 1

It all started when Sony decided to bet on CD games, Nintendo thought soon to abandon cartridges and tapes. No agreement, so she parted ways.

Sony's first video game, the famous Playstation 1 hit Japanese stores in 1994, still competing with consoles from previous generations. At first it did not please the public, it was difficult to adapt to the new graphics and the “modern” control. However, two features marked the history of the gaming world forever: the Memory Card and Dual Stick.

The Memory Card was simply a card that allowed the game to be saved, and the user could continue where he left off.

Already the Dual Stick controller has already fallen in favor of the public, and certainly contributed to the success of the console, as well as influencing new generations of video games.

Sony with its Playstation 1 launched games considered iconic, such as Tomb Raider, Winning Elever, Resident Evil, Crash Bandicoot, among others.
